Many of us know that the various CZ 75 compacts (PCR, P-01, etc.) will accept the fullsize 75B magazine. However, the drawback has always been the remaining space between the bottom of the compact's frame and the baseplate of the mag. Well, upon purchase of my new CZ 40-P I made an interesting discovery. Swapping out the 75 B's floorplate for that of the 40-P makes for a perfect fit in the compact frame. Shown in the picture is a factory 16rd magazine with the 40-P floorplate. Including a round in the chamber, that's 17rds stuffed into a little PCR.

Now, if CZ will make some spare floorplates available...

Take care. Marko

Excellant thought. I have 15 total rounds in my P-01 all the time anyway so I don't see me going out to purchase extra base plates for my 16 round 75B mags. It is a good idea though. You might email CZusa about it and see if they can get some extra baseplates. Might be a market for something like that.

CZ told a CZ Forum member, just this past week, that because the 40-P was new, it will take a number of months before some of the more unusual pieces are available. (This is true for the mag base plates AND the recoil spring buffer.)

Be patient, guys. In the meantime, you can get the flush-fitting ProMag 75B Compact mags for the .40 S&W version of the gun (designed, never made, but they made the mags anyway), which work fine with 9mm, and hold 13 - 14 rounds.

(Say what you want about ProMags, but this particular mag works pretty well in the CZ-75 compact guns.

These work great and are what I use. If fact it is all I have used with my P-01.

Yo Eric! Yes, I guess that pistol should look familiar to you. I'm hoping to get it to the range on Wednesday. I'll keep you posted as to how she shoots for me.

Take care. Marko

So someone has to ask ... is that legal?

Or would that be considered "manufacturing a new high capacity ammunition feeding device"

Yes. He already owns a 16 round, fullcap, magazine. (emphasis mine)

As it seems, he's just replacing one floorplate with another, not changing the capacity. Similar to replacing a flush floorplate with one with a finger rest.
