I recently purchased a CZ P-01 (great pistol) and though the factory rubber grips panels are pretty nice, I really like the look of the Hogue CZ75 rubber wrap-around finger groove grip panels. I already have a set of Hogue rubber wrap-around finger groove grip panels for my Sig P239 and Ruger MKII. The problem is Hogue only makes these grips for the full sized CZ75 series pistols. I believe I read on one of the gun forums (I can't remember which one) that someone had either a CZ 75B compact, CZ 75BD PCR or CZ P-01 and that they had modified/cut (removed excess bottom portion) a set of Hogue rubber wrap-around finger groove grip panels to fit their gun. Has anyone of this board done this, if so, could you explain how you removed the excess material and how well they came out. Pics of the modified installed Hogue grips on your CZ 75B compact, CZ 75BD PCR or CZ P-01 pistol would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks.:)

Thanks Gary! That's exactly what I was looking for. I think I will buy a Hogue rubber CZ-75 grip from MidwayUSA and do some customizing.:D

I removed the finger grooves on my grips. After cutting them off in the frt, I used a file, to put the bevel back on. A power sander works also. The trick is to back up the soft rubber, with something, so you can get a clean edge. Good luck! These grips are thinner than the factory rubber, and way better than the factory plastic that came on it.

I've done the same thing as JDGRay with my CZ and Beretta grips - 15 minutes and you're done. I found that a fine metal file works well.

I had to modify the Beretta grips to fit the Vertec profile. I attached them in the "normal" way, then used a marker to trace the grip profile on the inside where the excess was. Then I used a pair of heavyduty scissors (the big blue ones from IKEA) to cut away the excess material. You may have to cut through some of the hard-plastic backing material. I foudn the scissors did a much better job than an Exacto knife and left a cleaner edge. Then I just finished it up with the file.

I've had several different rubber grips on various CZs, and much prefer the factory soft rubber grips over any of them.

The Hogue finger groove grips simply didn't work for me. (Although I've used them successfully on SIGs and Berettas.) For some reason, the position of the finger grooves pushed my fingers into uncomfortable positions under the trigger guard -- and they just weren't comfortable.

There are a number of sources for wood grips -- either practice or beautiful (or, in a few cases, both.) Try the CZForum, too.
