CZ-75 Mags

Help!!! (Hello all);
I just bought three hi cap magazines from The Sportsmans Guide for my CZ-75 and they don't fit!!
They are the 17 rounders for $24.95 and they stick about two thirds of the way in, and when I push hard they will stick out just enough to get a screwdriver blade in to pry them out. The worst thing is they only hold four rounds apiece.

I e-mailed costomer service and they said that thats the right number and to work with them to get them to hold rounds. :banghead:

Has anybody else had this problem, should I take sandpaper to the mags or send them back and look for a different supplyer?

Weird. I don't even know who makes 17-rounders for the CZ-75.

I'd say get them to fix their screw-up.

I bought a couple of the ten round pro-mags about two years ago for my CZ75. In California you must use reduced capacity magazines. Any way, the would not fit without a lot of pounding. If you loaded them, they couldn't be moved at all. I miked them out and found that they bulged at a certain point in their centers. I put them in a bench vise and squeezed 'em a bit. Now they are just fine.

If you can't get them to take them back, measure them and give 'em a squeeze.

Was told by one of the CZ team shooters, that the best ones are the MecGar mags..think they are 15 or 16rnds..
check over on the CZ forum for more info..

Send them back for a refund..

Are you guys with problems talking about CZ-75s (i.e., the pre-B models) or CZ-75Bs?

If its a true CZ-75 (no "B" in the model name), you're not going to find many after-market mags that work in the older guns unless you're very, very luck.

Use factory mags and you'll have no problems.

Some mags made for the older ATs and older EAA guns will work too, but current production after-market mags are a problem for the older CZs.

Mec-Gar is now OEM mag maker for CZ, and their mags are quite good. For a 75B, its the way to go. But, for a 75 (no B), stick with factory -- just because Mec-Gar makes factory mags doesn't mean their mags will work in pre-B 75s. I've seen some that won't. I've seen a LOT that won't.

CDNN has Mec-Gar 16 rounders for the 75B for around $20. That's a great deal and a very good mag. Don't know if those mags will work in a pre-B, however.

(And like an earlier responder, I don't know of any quality mags for the CZ that are made for 17 rounds. Some Sportsman Guide mags are OK, and some are junk; you've got to be careful with their CZ-75(?) mags.

A lot of the 75-based mags designed to work in the CZ *AND* clones (Witness, Baby Eagle, Sphinx, ATs, etc.) won't work well in new or old CZs.

I bought some last year, they were terrible! TSG has a very good return policy.

I got some from a gunclips.com. ProMags in 15 and 17 rounds. Only differance was the 17s had bad followers that wouln't feed or hold the slide stop reliably and would let you over-compress and kill the spring. The 15 rounders were fine. I put the followers from my AWB era mags in the 17 rounders and they became extremely reliable 16 rounders. Now I stick to Mec-Gars whenever possible.

I've tried EAA Witness factory mags from CDNN in .40 S&W as well. They had HORRIBLE springs. Even the cheap 4 for $1 mag springs from CDNN were a huge improvement and made the mags reliable in my 85 Compact.

I have four 16rnd Mec-Gar mags for my CZ85 Combat that have had zero issues. Bought them from Midway a month or so ago.

I believe that Mec-Gar are OEM for CZ.

How about some full capacity mags for the 75-compact (PCR)? I have done the 9mm in .40 promag trick, but would like some 9mm factory or mecgars. anyone seen anything ?

The ONLY place selling them is CZ and a firm that advertizes on the CZ Forum (Midwest Tactical.) Check their CZF Classifier area. The mags are still pricey.

The factory hi-caps for the CZ comact models don't work any better than the Promags. (I have both and have used both.)

Thanks! They are expensive, though - you are right. thinking of replacing the springs in the promags to make them a little more smooth, right now, they work, but seem to snap and pop as they are being loaded....

Is there a suggested specific Wolf spring for use in the Pro Mags to make them more reliable?
