As planned, picked it up from the FFL this morning and headed right to the range (with my son). The gun is flawless. Right out of the box, fit, finish and operations is like a high end machine.

We put 230 rounds through her and even my son was floored at how accurate it could be. At 21 ft. - 7 yards, we were BOTH cutting the red bullseye out of the target.

At 30 ft - 10 yards, the same with all shots in the red or on the red. Any flyers (if you could call them that) were within an inch or so of the red and strictly due to the shooter (us) relaxing a grip. Rapid fire at that distance produced the same tight groups which was just amazing.

at 45 ft. ,15 yards - no problem at all keeping the groupings. Spot on.

1 FTF in the whole 230 rounds and when I ejected the cart, I noticed a bent casing - ammo problem.

So both my son and I were like two kids at Christmas...the pictures below are post shoot and I will clean her today. Going back to the range tomorrow.

That sounds great. I've been interested in that gun for a long time. Hopefully I'll be able to add one to my collection next year.

Your experience isn't surprising. They truly are one of the best pistols out there. No question about it.

LOL...

wouldn't that make a nice present but

1) Kind of a pricey present
2) Unobtainable right now...

Besides, he doesn't need one right now...being in the Navy and stationed nearby, if he carries, when he gets to the ship he would have to turn it in to the Master of arms..lockup...then check out...and here at home, there are plenty around.

Besides, why steal the joy of father son range time...:D

I held one.....one time.......left it there at the LGS..... About an hour drive home......called back to have them hold it for me.........already sold.......

Since then, I have kept my eyes open for one, but have not seen any. Now, I am thinking about a P09. But would like to handle one first. Still remember how the SP01 felt.

They are all great

But why I chose this...its not a poly gun (I already have a Glock 19). The all steel 75 series (regardless of model) is so dang solid and heavy, recoil is nil. Using it is almost like cheating...LOL

I stripped it, cleaned and lubed. Only one flaw which I WILL change. Every part is well finished and awesome EXCEPT the plastic guide rod. Really ? Plastic ?

Considering the workmanship, the oversize recoil spring (you wouldn't need to get a spring kit), and just general feeling like it was built by BMW, its a slap to have a plastic guide rod. Like having cheap hubcaps on an expensive car...

Now DPM Recoil Systems makes a guide rod and spring for (put it on my glock and it was awesome) but I don't need the whole kit..just the rod...

So on a scale of 1 to 10 the gun gets a 9.95...LOL

ohbythebay, That delrin guide rod will last virtually the life of the pistol. It not only functions well, it also cushions the recoil spring.
A good looking stainless rod will also function, but it will add weight up front, slightly slows the slide and won't remove and install quite as easy as the plastic will.

The CZ 75 pistols have been selling and functioning well for a mighty long time with that rod.

Just saying.

1SOW...makes sense

I did some searches on the net and found out the same as what you said. So I guess I can give it the 10 now...lol

Thank you !

Just paint the rod with chrome paint......

I only have one poly gun, it is a S&W Shield. Not a poly fan, but can live with them......

It wasn't the color...LOL

I was just concerned over longevity ...and the fact that it is not arrow straight (has a gentle curve to it). Doesn't seem to be a problem but wondering if I should ask for a replacement guide rod?

Thanks Viking...

Appreciate the info...going today...

Zeroing a scope on my AR-15, shoot the CZ, my Glock and my Bersa...busy morning planned....LOL..Its work ..but someone has to do it...

I have a feeling I'll be getting the SP-01 soon. I was swayed by shiny stainless 75B while looking for the SP-01... I will be happy to own them both! Congrats!
