Ok I never thought that this particular gun could malfunction in this particular way. This is what is does.
You will be shooting a magazine, then nouthing... The round does not go off, and the hammer is downall the way and against the fireing pin. You cannot force a double strike, and no matter how manytimes you sqeeze the trigger, nouthing. Then if you rack the slide and eject the round release the slide which chambers a new round and it fires normaly. About once every 50 rounds it malfunctions like this. The ejected round is perfect and shows no light primer hit or anything. I placed the round back into the magizine and it fired normaly. I have also placed these rounds in one of my other 9mm auto pistols, they all fired normaly.
I just cannot figure out why this is doing that. I was planning on having this be my nightstand gun, but not when I don't know if it will work or not. The other 9mm pistols that ate the ammo the the CZ would not where, Sig P229R, Sig P225, EAA Witness, Glock 17.
Now I am not a compleat cherry, I am just new to the CZ 75 style handguns. I love them and handling is great, I just can't figure this out. Has anyone else had a simular experince with the 75 Tactical? Thanks for help with this.
:cuss:

so hammer falls from single action..doesn't fire. then if you pull the trigger in DA action..nothing happens..

does the hammer not move at all??does the trigger move at all when trying to pull with the hammer down..

when you pull the trigger in single action and it does not fire...there is no mark on the primer???

The hammer falls ..click. The trigger will move and you can pull it as many times as you like no reset. Only when you mannualy cock the hammer or rack the slide will it rest to normal operation. It's not like when you dry fire and you just pull trigger again. Its like the trigger disconnects and misfires and the hammer just sits there, its weird as hell, did'nt even think it was possible to have the gun where you could not double strike even with a free moving trigger. As for the primmers I tried to say that they looked new, and without even a light primer strike. Plus this has happened every time I take it to the range. I was hoping that it was some sort of break in thing. But every time with differand ammo>?? No it's something with the gun, I just don't know enough about the CZ 75 to know what it could be.
Thanks for the help

two things sound like going on..and maybe related...
if the primer is unmarked..then for some reason the firing pin block is not being lifted..so the hammer falls and the firing pin is block from striking the primer.
when the hammer falls..the trigger bar is not coming forward enough to reset on the firing pin block lever..and without the reset..it cannot pick up the DA connector ( I tend to call this part the disconnector) and then it won't operate in DA mode.

if it is only happening sometimes..sounds like something is just barely off..

Have you given the gun a good cleaning..getting the CZ oil preservative off the gun and reoiled with a light oil?? might take a toothbrush or spray brake clearner and really clean under the ejector housing where the trigger bar mates up with the DA connector, FPB lever and sear and see if it repeats..

other than tearing it apart and checking what's up..you might be stuck with shipping back to CZ or taking to a gunsmith that is knowledgeable on the CZ design..

good luck

sounds right

What you are saying sounds right I just wanted a second opinion , and someone to say that I am not crazy, even I was like sitting there going... "what this type of malfunction can't happen here". The gun was detail cleaned after my last range trip so next time we shall see, but I am betting that you are right and thats the problem, I just aphore sending guns back to the factory. Don't know why, I suppose I think that they are suppse to work right to begin with. lol. I have to day in the 500-600 rounds through the gun, this was the only type of malfunction. No feeding problems. My Witness is the same way. I just have always used, Sigs, H&Ks, & Glocks, so like I said my first trip into the world of the CZ 75 is this gun and my witness. I really appericate the advice, thanks alot.

I'd go to the CZ forum and post the question in the Ask Angus section.
