I'm thinking about getting a CZ-75, and I'm trying to decide which finish I want to get (for one in .40S&W). I'd love a stainless, but its only available in 9mm. So I'm looking at the 'satin nickel' finished one, but I'm wondering about the durability of the finish.
Also, I'm trying to figure out what the aesthetic and durability differences are between their "polycoat" and "blued" finishes - as near as I can tell, the poly might be a bit weak and vulnerable to scratching, whereas the blued is fairly traditional and a bit more shiny. I'd probably get the blued version, failing any positive input re: satin nickel finish.
So, what of the satin nickel finish? As durable as chrome? Flake easily? Scratch easily? This gun will be for shooting (I'll also be getting the Kadet .22LR upper) as well as CCW, so the pistol will see a bit of daily wear and tear; how will it hold up compared to 'traditional' bluing, and what might my options be for refinishing it? Is the finish bonded to the steel, or is it just a coating?
Thanks.
