hi,

i have a 75 bd (the one with the loaded chamber indicator and lanyard) that has probably a little over 800 rds through it.

i expected the trigger to get "better" the more it was fired. it has stayed the same.

with continuous light pressure the trigger has three separate "stops" it then fires right after the third "stop."

i like to shoot with the same continuous stroke on every shot, as i can with my sig and with my kahr (elite trigger).

can't do it with the cz. start with a light smooth stroke, it stops. and i have to pick up the stroke again from there, it stops. begin again, stop, begin again then it fires.

i am a fair target shooter and the whole thing is starting to psych me out when i shoot the cz. a harder pull and it sails on through but accuracy suffers.

anyone experience anything similar or have any suggestions on how to get a smooth pull out of this otherwise excellent, reliable pistol?

thanks,

mick

I have looked at the CZ 75 and I guess, with enough time and money a good trigger pull could be put on, but it would not be easy. The sear and hammer would be amenable to smoothing up like any other pistol, but they are pretty good already and that does not appear to be the real problem. The trouble is the long release needed for trigger reset and I think it would defeat any attempt to shorten the takeup to anything reasonable. Even the minimum, a block to prevent the trigger bar from going too far forward would be hard to do (and would negate the DA mechanism).

I might be wrong, and am willing to be corrected, but I don't know of any "blueprint" for modifying that gun for target work (unlike the Model 1911 where "how to" books can be bought by the dozen). I also suspect any smith willing to tackle the job would be learning as he went, maybe not a good thing from the customer's viewpoint.

And I definitely don't see any work on that gun as a DIY project for anyone but a very experienced pistol smith.

Jim
