I'm not having any luck finding a CZ-83 9x18 nickel NIB. I don't think I'm going to find it.

I've been to the CZ forums too. No dice. Not for love or money since they don't have it NIB.

Anyone have one NIB?

You should probably post in the group buy forum instead.

I didn't know there was a forum for "group buy".

Thanks

I actually think we will be able to do this without having to pay extra for nickel and without even having to order as a group. CZ-USA just needed to know the level of interest.

I was just contacted back by CZ-USA and they said OK and told me to put in a pre-order for the number I want. However, I'm not a wholesaler or retailer, so I had to enquire back about how to put in a pre-order (back order).

Do I have my retailer do it? Or do they have their wholesaler do it? Don't know yet. Will find out from CZ-USA.

P.S. - I don't mention these things at the CZ forum because those people don't communicate with me much. So I'll stick with this forum. Better CZ stuff here anyway.

I'm now in contact with the retailer who also is a wholesaler who's ordering them from CZ-USA. We (you and I) will pre-order from that retailer-wholesaler. This is a pre-order only deal. If you don't pre-order you won't get one. There are hundreds of people who want these and only a couple dozen coming in to USA.

I don't yet know what the cost will be. They didn't say and I didn't think to ask.

I'd assume it will be the standard $380. I don't know yet.

Will let you know as soon as I find out.

Should know tommorrow (Tues 17th, Jan 2006).

Should get mine pre-ordered tommorrow too.

Once I get mine pre-ordered (so I don't have to worry about getting them), then I'll tell everyone how to do it.

Thanks, will be intersted to see how it goes. What's the cost?

Here's the deal...

Makarov.com plans to order 24 NIB CZ-83s in 9x18 nickel and another 24 in blue from CZ-USA when they are at the Shot Show in Feb, 2006.

The prices on blue will be $319. Wow.

The prices on nickel will be $340 to $360. Pretty good.

Carl is the guy whose running the CZ-83 show at Makarov.com.

The nickel ones are a preorder deal only. If you want one, put in your preorder now. They'll be sold out in advance.

Now all this said, if they get enough pre-orders before February 15th, then they can and probably will order more than 24 of the nickel.

Contact Carl at Makarov.com for more info.

Thanks from wbond.

Latest info as of 1-25-06

Here's the best info I've got to date.

CZ-83 NIB are as common as dirt in .380 nickel or gloss blue, but not in the matte black aka black polycoat. If looking for one in blue or nickel, any gun store can order one, or may even have one in stock.

However, if you want a NIB .380 in matte black, Makarov.com is the only place I know of. They don't have any yet, but they'll be here by March 2006 or April, I've heard.

CZ-83s NIB in .32 ACP are still fairly common on GunsAmerica.com and GunBroker.com, even though they're not imported anymore. The blues are common, sometimes blacks, I've never seen a nickel.

The tougher ones are the NIB 9x18s. They're still available in glossy blue at GunsAmerica.com and GunBroker.com, but aren't common. However, in nickel and matte black they are very rare, in my experience.

However, Makarov.com is going to be getting 9x18s in all 3 finishes sometime in March or April 2006. So I've heard.

For more info from Makarov.com or to preorder see the following post from Makarov.com: http://www.gunboards.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=144719

They're here: NIB 9x18 CZ-83s in all finishes at excellent prices.

Go git 'em at http://www.Makarov.com

Best prices on CZ-83s of any place in USA.

Today is March 15th, 2006.

You'd better hurry up. They won't last long, especially in the nickel.

The nickel and matte black are the rare finishes in 9x18. (rare in USA anyway)

The blue gloss 9x18 are less rare, but not common in 9x18.

Note that the blue gloss is really more of a blue satin.

The matte black is just what it sounds like, but is often called polycoat black. The "matte black" and "polycoat black" are the same animal.

I'm not sure, but I think Makarov.com is only selling the 9x18s, not .32 ACPs or .380 ACPs. That's fine with me.

Also note that the 9x18s have polygonal bores. The older 9x18 CZ-83s (like mine) have chrome plated bores, the newer ones are allegedly stainless steel barrels. I have not seen a recently made CZ-83, so I can't verify this rumor of stainless barrels.
