I was looking for a reasonably priced 28 gauge over and under. Having owned a few CZ pistols I thought it was time to try one of their shotguns. I bought the CZ Drake in 28 gauge for live birds and some skeet shooting. Anyway, I purchased it online from Bud's for $569. Fast forward, the little 28 has been fantastic, built like a little tank, mechanical triggers, and some pretty nice wood! IMG_6548.JPG IMG_6036.JPG

Very nice!
For those who might not yet know it though, these are not built by CZ. They are built in Turkey for CZ. Not necessarily a bad thing as I have a S&W SxS built by AKUS and it is very well done.

Spain is still around with excellent quality; their prices have really gone up due to labor costs and shrinking demand

It appears least expensive new Spanish BLE sells for close to 5000USD. One exception is 25" AyA 453BLE they have listed at Pacific Sporting for <3000USD. For some strange reason Americans will not touch Churchill style XXV with a flag pole, which is a shame.

Very nice and a good buy, I looked at the same gun a while back. The fit and finish was very good and walnut was very nice. It was $700 at Scheels so figured they could be bought for about $100 less.
It will look even better in a picture with a couple birds this fall.

I have to laugh at the folks who berate Turkish built shotguns. Case in point, Beretta of Italy's workforce is made up of 75% Turks producing their shotguns. Make no mistake, the Turks are excellent craftsmen.

Nice! Turkey certainly has arrived on the scene making all sorts of solid, well made and good looking shotguns and handguns. Your CZ is certainly one of those shotguns!

My first 28 was a Ruger Red Label with the 28” barrels. Lightweight and nimble, the small-framed 28 O/U is an upland walker/hunters dream :).

Stay safe.

Glad your RR 28 was a good one; mine was not. I really wanted to like mine, but it was not to be.

The original 20 and 28 gauge Red Labels were superb shotguns.

Here was the latest iteration of the 12 gauge Ruger Red Label. It was reintroduced about 10 years ago with a retail price of $1200 bucks. Nothing at all like the original models. They were selling them online for a grand. I sold it within a month. 8D688533-7641-48F5-A204-54EAC7A98B8C-18711-0000056B4D5D1046.jpeg
