CZ Gunsmith

I am looking for a gunsmith to do some work on my CZ75B Semicompact, a trigger job and having a XO Big Dot front and rear sight installed. I would like to find a gun doc that does good work and has a decent turnaround time (=<7-8 weeks).

If anyone knows of a Tampa area smith that would be great, but I would be will to ship it too.

I've had a trigger job done by Matthew Mink, who frequents the CZ Shooters board. Excellent work, and decent turnaround.

Angus Hobdell of Ghost Holster and Jim Miossi of Miossi Gun Works also do such work, but I believe Mr. Miossi is waay backlogged.

Angus did a great trigger job on my CZ 85 Combat earlier this year. His turnaround at that time was about 3 weeks. The DA trigger was very smooth without the "camming" at the end of the pull seen on stock triggers. The SA resembled the single action of a well made S&W revolver.

If Angus is too busy, check Matthew Mink. He did a nice trigger job on my CZ97b.

On a different note, look at front sights with small fiber optic rods before you go for a big dot sight. Angus may sell some. In my limited experience the large dot makes precision shooting more difficult while a small dot is really all that's needed for close-in fast shots.
