A local gun store has a CZ urban grey Shadow 2 at a decent price. I understand that the rear sight on this pistol as it comes from the factory can be adjusted for elevation but must be drifted for windage. How hard would it be to replace the sight with a target sight adjustable for both W and E? Gunsmith job or kitchen table?

Additional opinions on the gun itself are welcome.

Thanks.

I use a Jennings sight pusher and some soft pieces of wood to protect the slide. You have to go just a small bit at a time and back it off to keep from bending it. Very easy if you're careful.

But give the OEM sight a fair chance. It's a good sight, unlike what comes on most pistols.

Windage is omitted for reliability.

I agree with Zerodefect. with a proper sight pusher, I don't think you'd have a lot of problem if you are careful. But I found mine to be perfectly aligned for windage. In fact I haven't even had to change the elevation on mine with 124 gr ammo.

My Shadow 2 is a fantastic gun. I use it as a home defense gun and for A LOT of fun on the range. Hitting a 6" steel plate at 30 yards isn't that hard if you are a decent shot. I put Lok grips on mine as I needed a palm swell to get proper trigger reach and to increase the positive interaction with my hand. It doesn't budge in my hand.

The only down side is the finish has been known to be less than robust, as it's a competition gun meant to be beat on. But I have had no issues with the finish on mine, as it hasn't even been in a holster yet. If you want a true blued gun, this isn't it.
