This Monday I'm gonna order that SP01 I've been eyeballin. Where do you guys get your factory CZ75 mags? Anybody running Mecgar's? I heard they were slightly different than factory.

I run MecGars exclusively through my SP-01. They've had no problems. And if I recall, I think MecGar makes the OEM mag for CZ anyway.

in a matter of weeks i'm going to be a meaningful contributor to this thread! i'm so excited!

I'm ordering an SP-01 too!!! (unless i can find a 97B to try on and it fits my hand, which is unlikely)

CZs rock. My wife and I are dedicated CZ fans, my PO1, and her RAMI. Once life gets better, (coming soon), we will aquire more...

Glad to see ya finally getting a CZ:D And I better not see it in the classifieds in a few weeks :neener: All joking aside, I'm sure you'll like it, and congrats!

I just ordered a new CZ P-01 this morning from Buds Gun Shop website. They think it should ship out Tuesday morning next week. This will be my first CZ. I can't hardly wait!:D I see CDNN has 16 round Mec-Gar CZ75 mags for $18.99 in-stock right now. They also carry the 14 round Mec-Gar CZ75 Compact mags (the ones I need for my P-01 to fit flush) for $18.99 as well, but they are currently out-of-stock on them right now.:( Here is the link:

I have however many CZ mags came with the gun (2? 3?) and about 9 MecGars... they are EXCELLENT mags, and every one has functioned flawlessly out of the packaging.

Mecgar is the OEM for CZ magazines.

Any magazine holder for Sig Sauer P226 magazines will work for the CZ.

Mec Gar makes the factory mags. They are however a little different, side by side from the OEM ones. It is just a cosmetic thing. I have 6 factory mags, and four Mec Gar. They are all flawless but you can tell them apart.

Congrats on deciding on the SP-01, I think you'll love it.

Using the two factory mags, two mags that came with a TA90, and a couple of Mec Gars I've yet to have any problems with my newish SP-01. It shoots MUCH better than I can and after two range sessions and a weekend of dry firing the trigger has improved a noticeable amount already.

I'll take any chance I can to post a picture of it!

The holster is a Uncle Mikes Kydex for a Glock 21 that fits perfectly in the left handed rendition. I think it was around $20 after shipping, the cheapest thing I could find since its just for range duty.

Are the safety models preferred over the decock?

For me, yes.

When I was holding the gun the decocker interfered with my high thumb grip. So if you're going to order one with a decocker I would suggest you pick one up in person first.
Also its easier to do trigger work on the safety models than the decocker models, but that might not even be a consideration.

I prefer cocked and locked, just because it's the same as my 1911s. Also, trigger jobs are much easier to get on manual safety models...apparently working on decocker models is a PITA.

I just picked up a CZ75b at a gun show. I was looking for a Sig, and yes, I had the money to buy the Elite, but there were none for sale. I was talking to a guy who had a Sig for sale about how I love the trigger pull, and the guy next to him handed me the CZ. I fell in love and bought it. I was worried that I might have gotten a bad deal. But you guys seem to really like yours so, as someone who is new to CZ could you guys let me know some things I should look out for in the 75b?

The only commonly reported problem (and it's actually not that common) is a weak extractor spring. This is easily fixed by ordering a Wolff extra power extractor spring, which costs around $3 dollars.

I got lucky one time and found that CDNN actually had CZ 75 compact Mecgar magazines in stock. Most of the time, they are out of stock. I suggest that you call and ask them about avaliability.

Just superb pistols. My two CZs are past 3,000 rounds now without a single FTF or FTE, ever.

Mec-Gar is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for CZ mags. Excellent quality. Use their stuff without fear.

I have owned and currently own a slew of 9mm's.

I have a Pre-B CZ-75 that is my favorite. I really like my West German Sig 226, but my CZ is so incredibly slick and tight out of the box making it a treat and a joy to handle.

No complaints from me and I'm a picky b_st_rd.

I like the CZs I own, and am always interested in getting more.
I have the 40P (damned good buy), and a 452 in 22lr.
