Recently traded for a CZ-P01 9mm with a Kadet .22 kit. While I was checking it out and putting the Kadet kit on, I noticed the slide wouldn't lock back and the release was very stiff. Did some sniffing around on the CZ forums for answers. Seems the stock P01 slide stop doesn't work really well with the Kadet kit.

I emailed the CZ gunsmith, Mike Eagleshield, and asked the question. He responded quickly that the PCR slide stop works well with the Kadet and he asked for my address. The new slide stop arrived a few days later - absolutely free. Now that's customer service!

Took it to the range today and the gun was flawless in both the 9mm and .22 configuration. I was worried that the Kadet would be ammo picky like most semi-autos are, but I put over 200 rounds of Walmart bulk (Federal) thru it without a single problem. It was just as accurate as the Buckmark I used to have as well. Then I put the 9mm slide on and ran 2 boxes of Blazer aluminum thru it - again perfect. I've heard a lot of CZ owners say the aluminum ammo doesn't cycle well but I guess I got one that likes it. I can truly say this is a great gun, shoots well in both calibers and allows for cheap trigger time for sure. Had to trade a Kimber Compact to get it but I'm very happy...

Avoid bulk Remington in the Kadet Konfiguration. Otherwise, you should be fine.

Whittaker's was out of Kadet kits when I called last week.

Keep emailing. They turn their stock over faster than almost anyone else in the U.S. I have been dealing with them for over a decade now, and they are the best. (They are semi-local for me, to be fair.)
