CZ Kadet .22 question

I know that you can get a conversion kit to take the regular CZ 75 from 9mm (or .40) down to a .22 practice weapon but ... if you get a .22 Kadet pistol can you get a 9mm barrel and slide assembly for that?

I was leaning toward the Kadet as my next purchase (need (uh, want) a .22). I like the Kadet for it's conventional control set and external hammer.

Although I have a 9mm (Sig 228) that I like, I would consider saving a little longer to get a CZ-75 as a second 9mm (full sized and all steel) and also get the .22 conversion kit.

Or get the .22 Kadet and pick up a 9mm slide/barrel assembly.

Unfortunately, I don't think so. However the CZ 75 is a really great 9mm pistol, which softens the blow somewhat. Good luck with whichever you choose.

We know you can get a .22 kit for a 9mm pistol.

We don't know if you can get a 9mm kit for the Kadet pistol...

The frames are the same.

Save a little longer and get the Kadet Kit AFTER you buy the 9mm.

My Kadet kit is so accurate that I eventually traded my Ruger MKII Target Competition (Bull Barrel); there was very little it would do that my Kadet kit wouldn't do as well. I simply wasn't shooting the Ruger any more...

CZ won't offer the centerfire top-ends

I'd thought about getting a 9mm top for the .40S&W(while I owned it).

Walt: as you know, I've had issues with my CZ 75B 9mm. It is still with Mike @ CZ USA. I have fired the Ruger MKII target and really like it. After reading your experience, I'm thinking of keeping the CZ(whenever I get it back), adding the Kadet .22 kit, and see what happens! Take 'er EZ!

You have INDEED had issues with your CZ. Its been like the CZ from hell...

(I had a Chrysler like that once. I still shudder when I think about it. Happily most of the costs of repair were under warranty. Chrysler might've made a profit in '85 and '86 if they had just bought it from me and junked it...)

What I like about the Kadet Kit is that when I want to practice live presentations (from the holster) I can afford to do it, with .22 ammo, longer than I'm likely to do it. That is NOT the case with 9mm or .40 ammo.

(I shoot IDPA. Its nice to be able to practice with my regular gun, the same trigger, the same sight picture, the same weight -- but do it cheaply.)
