Is it just me, or did CZ-USA bump their prices up by 10% or more in the past week or so? I was looking at a new P07 earlier this month at Buds for $400-ish, and now it's over $500, and it's much the same price at Angus's store and Impact guns. What gives?

Decline in the $$$.

I've told people for a couple months now..Better buy them at the old prices while you can get them.

Cabela's had P-07's for $399.99 a month or so ago so I couldn't resist picking one up. I also recently picked up a new Dan Wesson Commander Classic Bobtail that the shop had just put in the case 20 minutes before I got there. Those are discontinued now so it was a good score.

What CZF says. Our ducats (dollars) are in decline. I remember that same thing in the late '70s when the HK was going up $20 virtually every month. The dollar was weakening against the Deutsch Mark.

CZ stuff has gone up more than the competition. While most guns have increased in price, CZs have REALLY increased in price. I still like them though!

Its not just the exchange rate. CZ is also raising the price of the 100% domestic Dan Wesson line. They are hiding behind the dollar but if you are a CZ fan you have seen their guns steadily go up over the last 3 years.

Bought my first 75B Compact for $360 OTD, 40P for under $300. 75B's used to be everywhere for $350. Their most expensive offering was the P01 and that was $450.

Its not just the $$$ CZ is trying to make more money. I don't blame them but I am not going to gloss over what they are doing.

I've heard that most gun manufacturers tend to raise their prices every year in January. Don't know why this is.

Kahr did the same thing about 2-3 years ago.

Sigs have gotten beyond reason, as has Remington. As a matter of fact, the only maker I can think of that hasn't went way up is GLOCK.

Yes CZ has been going up every year but what hasn't? The dollar is getting to be worth less each year.

In the case of the P-07 It looks like they brought the price up to where the Glock and Springfield XD and XDM are running. So it doesn't seem so bad when you compare to the competition.

Myslef and others have seen the prices on Pre-Bs rising in the past year, and creeping up each month.

The supply of these grand old guns is drying up and people are hanging
on to them.

I'd say buy any Pre-B you can find. (not just mine)

The same really, for any CZ pistol or rifle.

Funny thing, now that the prices for 75Bs and other pistols
are near what SIGs sold for a few years ago.

The guns are more popular than ever!

I felt that this CZ75B Polished Stainless was a bit much, but I had to have it. Bought it in November. If prices have gone up since then, I probably have a "bargain" now. It was just too pretty to resist.......

Right because the real issue is material cost not exchange rate. Sigs are made 100% in the US minus the MIM parts which no one knows what their origin is.

It is not the exchange rate. People constantly give that excuse but it simply does not hold water. Does exchange rate explain CZ price increases on the DW side?

It's like crack, sell it cheap at first; and then when they're hooked, set it.

Also labor plays more than the exchange rate. Wages in eastern europe and the standard of living is going up at a much faster rate there then here.

I was talking about the $$ for CZUB products.
The DW line is another story.

Acording to some posters..
People are actually getting a better gun this year.

According the the director of marketing the price increase was coming regardless of change in the product from DW. I am simply trying to demonstrate that your statements are assumptions. CZ who owns DW was looking to raise prices across the board to make more $$$ from their limited production. The reality is that CZ is raising prices because of higher material cost, higher labor costs and higher profit margin because their product is more popular.

Don't make excuses for them. They are gaining market share and are looking to make more $$$ as a result. Which is the entire goal of being in business. Why make excuses for their success. :D

I think CZ's are "discovery" pistols. They don't have a piercing marketing stategy like many others. Even EAA European Armory runs more magazine adds than CZ.

Once someone tries a CZ, generally it's "on like a chicken bone". This is what happened to me. You still get a remarkable pistol, even at the current price, IMHO.

I bought most of my CZ's several years ago before prices went thru the roof.IIRC, I bought my CZ-83 for $299.99.:D

+1 with Rellascout.

I can't blame CZ for trying to maximize the prices they can get for their pistols. But I also won't blame consumers for starting to look elsewhere for "best bang for the buck".

If CZ wants to play with the big boys and get the prices that the big boys get, they are going to have to elevate their game.

I got my CZ P-01 for $450 about a year and a half ago  I'm looking to buy another soon, but I'll have to pay a lot more.
