I have a CZ 75 B and a CZ 75 Semi-Compact. The two have been "breeding" in the safe and are fixing to have a little one.:what:

The question is, will it come out looking like a compact or a rami? The compact will give me a little smaller frame than my semi compact, but the same size slide and barrel length. Although, the compact would be satin nickel. The rami will give me smaller all the way around. It would not be the P version.

Which would be the better addition to the family?

Semi-compact and compact?

I am pretty sure that the sizes are CZ75B standard, CZ 75B Semi Compact, and CZ RAMI, which is their compact.

I have a semi compact. It is a full size 75 frame with a compact slide. 4" barrel. It was a special run a while back. From my understanding, the cz compact has the same slide as my semi compact but the frame is a little smaller than the standard 75 frame. The website lists the Rami as a sub-compact.

The Semi-Compact is a rare breed, not usually stocked in the US. Sizes are standard, such as 75B, 85, etc, Compact, such as PCR, CZ-75 Compact, P01, P07, P06, and subcompact, RAMI.
Now which new foundling you have on that blessed day depends on your use for it, but my own personal reccomendation would be a Compact frame model, to stay in theme of gradual descent. The Steel Frame CZ-75 Compact is a shrunken 75B, standard safety and all, the PCR/P01/P06 crowd are the alloy framed decockers, and the new P07 is CZs premier poly DA/SA with either decocker of standard safety - you decide, and you switch it to one or the other whenever you want to.
Clear as mud now? or, tell the salesman to surprise you... :D

I too have a CZ-75 Semi-Compact. It was purchased about 2 years ago at a Gun show for a scant $350; new in box. Its a wonderful pistol

The last time i saw production numberd, i believe they said that only 350 were made in a special one-time run.

I like the semi compact. Feels just like the 75, but with a shorter barrel. I am just ready to take a step or two down in size.

If you are going to carry, P-01 is VERY nice and does have a rail if you are so inclined at a later time.

Of course with the P-01 you get 9mm only.

Looked at the po-1. Light rail does not interest me. Also looked at the pcr. Don't want the decocker model. Want one with a safety.

I'm NOT trying to be a wise butt - only trying to relay information. If cocked & locked is not a requirement, then having a manual safety (like on the RAMI) is not necessary and I'd suggest the decocker. In the RAMI (Alloy), the safety can only be engaged when the hammer is cocked (for cocked/locked carry).

The decocker in the P-01 (and I'm assuming the new BD RAMI - though I'm not sure), for example, decocks to the half-cock position (which is the normal carry condition) and allows a shorter DA pull.

Hope this is a help.

P07 comes with both safety systems, you can swap from decocker to standard safety yourself, in under 10 minutes.
Whatever you chose, have fun with you're new bundle of joy!

If I am not mistaken the PO7 mags. will not fit in the 75's. So, if your two CZ's have another , you may want it to take the same mags. The PCR is the most light weight compact but as said before, it has the decocker. I have the compact 75 an it is NICE! But heavy. Also I think that the Rami takes the75 mags? I would like to see the decocker Rami, but there are none around here.

Ah, good point, the P07 does not take the same magazines, so if mag compatability, yes, the Compact or the RAMI would be able to use any other full size CZ mags.
