CZ Rami 2075 Slide Stop

I just picked up a NIB CZ Rami 2075 Stainless Slide in 9mm. I love the feel of the gun, but man is the slide stop hard to push down. My thumbs are killing me after just a few times. Any idea what's up?

You are not an idiot. I have had my Rami since the summer and I don't even bother with the slide stop. I just sling shot it.
