Anyone have any experience with the CZ Rami? I'm considering one, but have never seen one in a gun store to actually handle.

A friend of mine carries one and thinks it's the neatest thing since sliced bread. He does own and has owned many different handguns over the years and really likes his Rami. People who own them seem to swear by them.

I've handled them but never fired one. I prefer DA/SA hammer fired pistols but my turn off was the shape and position of the decocker and the lack of real estate when using an overhand grip to cycle the slide.

I had the BD model w/ decocker and came with night sights. Saw them available, decided to try it. I liked it but like ^^^ stated above, it was just wasn't a good IWB gun, and that's where I prefer to carry. I did put my Kadet .22 upper on it, and it did indeed work with it.. :)

I had one. Love CZ's, but sold it for a thinner, easier to carry pistol. Quality is excellent.
What did you replace it with? The thickness does concern me.
Hammer-fired pistols that aren't 1911 style are difficult to find. My requirements are DA/SA or DAO and hammer fired.

Be aware that the RAMI isn't very much like the 75s in terms of feel. The 75 D/Compact/PCR/P-01 guns are the "mini" 75s. I personally didn't care for the feel of the RAMI compared to the PCR and P-01. Here's a photo of those two along side some full-size CZs.

The RAMI is actually based on the CZ-40, not the CZ-75. The grip, and grip angle are more like a 1911, because originally the CZ-40 was a Colt joint venture that went south. I have a 75D PCR, and find the RAMI isn't that much smaller. I think if CZ made a single stack, slimmer version it would be ideal.

I have no trigger time on one, but was able to get hands on one at the LGS last summer. As Pilot noted, these are not a model 75 sub compact and don't feel anything like the 75 series. For me, I did not care for it at all and the size / width of it would not carry any easier than my P-01.

I owned a RAMI(.40 S&W) for a time and IME it was a heavy, clunky, gun that really didn't give you any capacity for the weight. There were also a lot of feed issues with the .40s in general. I don't know if CZ ever fixed them

I purchased the coveted Rami D with night sights back in April. I clicked the wish list at Bud's and got the email a few months later. I found it to work very well and the sights were pretty darn good. However, the two magazines provided were "tiny 2-finger hold" and "might as well carry my PCR". I'll caveat by telling you that I am a CZ fanboy to be sure. A P-01 SDP is on my hip right now. A PCR and 75B reside in my safe. The PCR used to be my primary carry. I own or have owned several subcompacts including HK P30sk, P99c, Glock 26, XD compact..... the Rami, by far, had the most pronounced pinky dangle of all of them. I couldn't get any piece of a pinky to rest on the grip. Just wasn't shootable with the 10-round mag in. The 14-round mag with sleeve was great, but at that point, why not just carry the PCR? I sold it.

I love the CZ 75 series and would've bought a RAMI if it was single-stack. Seeing as CZ has no 9mm single stack, I went with a Ruger LC9s, and am extremely happy with it- very fun gun to shoot.

Okay, first off I am a CZ fanboy,,,
My 75B and 75B Kadet are great guns.

But I'm not all that fond of the RAMI,,,
A good friend has one and it doesn't fit my hand at all.

It's as accurate as one can aim it,,,
And as far as I know he's never had a jamb,,,
But after firing his I decided to go with a different gun.

So what I'm saying is,,,
Don't buy one until you've held one.

You might like it a lot,,,
Or like me, you'll find the grip too dang small.

As far as I know, RAMI is the only non-blowback .380 ACP or 9mm Short gun that CZ built {that was imported to U.S.}. So if you must have a 380, it's RAMI or nothing.

Update: It appears that I'm misremembering about this. Everything on the Internet says that RAMI never was chambered in .380.

To my knowledge, CZ doesn't offer the RAMI in a .380. In fact, according to their website, there aren't ANY .380 ACP CZ guns in production right now (at least available in the US).

I am hoping CZ comes out with a single stack, sub compact P-10. It would be the only polymer handgun I would buy.

A funny RAMI story.

My friend who own one had it immediately stolen from him.

We were at the range one Saturday and stopped by The Evil Pawn Shop on the way home,,,
My friend saw the RAMI there, liked the way it felt, and impulse bought it.

So we go to his place to watch a football game,,,
He set the RAMI out on the kitchen counter with the rest of his guns.

His wife came home a bit later and saw the gun,,,
She picked it up, liked the way it felt,,,
Said, "What a cute little gun.",,,
A put it in her purse.

He swore he didn't see again it for 6 months.
