20190106_141125-1134x2016.jpg 20190107_065439-1612x907.jpg haven't gone shooting in several weeks and just itching to go through the range. i was going to shoot all my czs but since we were going to a movie in the afternoon decided to bring 4 instead. relatively warm compared to the subfreezing temps we had recently, temp in the 40s.

from the top targets left to right , cz 85 38 rds, cz sp01 38 rds( always. considered this to have a not so ideal trigger as it cams the hammer back at the end of the pull and hasn't been shot in a couple of years) 20190106_141125-1134x2016.jpg 20190107_065439-1612x907.jpg , bottom cz p10 34 rds or 48, cz75 PCR 34 rds(shot with decocked first shot for the 3 mags). 10 yrds with my 147 gr sns powder coated. offhand, shot slow but not ultraslow .

i am partial to the sights on the p10 and sp01. the 85 has adjustable sight but the notch is slightly more shallow. the pcr sights are not as nice as the other sights.

i always see threads about having to seat the bullet longer in czs to chamber reliably. i use the same reloads and never had issues .

Outstanding collection of CZs! Would love to have an SP01 or Shadow 2 some day!

I'm kinda thinking about getting a P07 for my wife. Would that be a good choice?

Monster Zero

I just got a P07 for Christmas. When I picked it up for the first time I really liked the solid feel it had; like it has a good heft to it. It's about the same size as a Glock 19 or a Ruger Security 9 and holds 15 rounds in it's magazine. Sights are great and are very quick and easy to acquire. The trigger pull in DA is initially somewhat heavy while the SA has a little bit of take up then breaks cleanly. As mine came from the factory with the decocker installed you can change it over to a thumb safety (and carry the gun in Condition One), with the parts included with the gun. There are videos on Youtube that will show you how to do it.

i don't have a p07 but had just handled one in the lgs an hour or 2 ago. i was checking the trigger reset . it didn't seem as tactile, audible or short as the p10c. i only dry fired it twice though.
i love my p10c especially given it's price and trigger but the coil pin in mine(front of the take down) backs out to the left after 1 or 2 range sessions by a quarter of an inch. i just punch it back in .
have your wife handle the grip of the p07 she may love it.

Scorpion?
was contemplating one but have never seen one with the sb tactical brace. without it not so interested in one.

a 97b is one i would like to encounter. if the grip is something i can handle i would buy it.

I have had some and sold some and now have 2 of the SP-01s that I love. I got them at really good prices and if I can get a great deal on the Shadow 2 I would one to my collection.

my lgs used to be a cz dealer and up to now still carries some czs. so used czs often show up . i bought the sp01 and the pcr used.

Re: The 97b...

As-is out if the box, the gun frankly is not that great. Long reach to trigger unless cocked first, stock grips aren't all that ergonomic, barrel bushing is prone to breaking. Mine snapped twice, went flying God knows where.

I converted mine to SAO, installed Nill target grips and had Cajun gun works machine in the 1911 barrel bushing mod. Even now I'm still dealing with broken barrel lugs, possibly due to running warmer handloads. I was also wrestling with the occasional FTE, again...probably need to adjust powder charges.

CZ has quietly 'adjusted' a few things over the years trying to remedy problems. The feed ramp was lengthened, chamber throated, ejector modified for more reliable function. Now the current ones have fiber optic front sight and aluminum grips.

i would only consider the newer ones. the one with the brown grips I'm sure would have been too big for my hands.

that is not good to hear about the bushing and the barrel lugs. mostly what i hear about is the too large grips. i want to spread out my 45 shooting beyond 2 1911s and a sigp220.

I'm hoping one of the lgs regulars who buys guns regularly but i don't think shoots as much will trade in his 75b tactical sport.(not the orange) i would like to get that if the price is right. i was there when he bought it and my hands fit it well enough, that trigger was super light( i think too light). when i asked him about it 2 months later he hasn't even shot it. Huuuh? but in between had bought several more guns.

I LOVE the 97 B. I have four 75-based guns for comparison (all worked to various extents with Cajun Gun Works parts) and the 97 B is great, possibly my favorite of all to shoot. I have pretty normal-sized hands (wear size L gloves) and I don't find the gun to be too large, don't wish it were smaller. It is a very sweet shooter. Never any issue with it at all, shoots all different types of ammo that I've fed it without any malfunctions (various makes and models of round nose and hollow point factory ammo). It has a Cajun Ultra-Lite kit (that I highly recommend for ALL metal frame CZs), otherwise it's stock. I suggest getting the 2013+ model 97 B with the thinner grips and the revised feed ramp.

theres hope for me yet . like you my hands arent big but i do wear large gloves and surgical gloves sized 7 1/2.
