I've got a CZ40 that has trigger slap? I searched the forums and other sites and I've seen some with this problem but the majority says that their CZ's function flawlessly. The few having this problem can't seem to find a resolution? So I'm posting to see if anyone might have found the solution... Is this something that can be remedied by the gun or is it my grip?
I've only put about 100 rounds through it and by the end of the last shot, my finger was sore?
Any help would be appreciated.

On my CZ 75 PO1 I noticed an "impulse" from the trigger back into my finger whenever the gun was fired during my first couple of times at the range. It felt like I was getting whacked on the pad of my trigger finger and it's the only gun I've ever fired that did that. My last trip to the range I didn't really notice it (didn't even think about it until I read this thread). So either it goes away, or you stop noticing it after a while. My gun has 600 rounds on it, so it doesn't take long.

I've read that shooting it more would fix the problem.... My finger will be tenderized by then :D I've got an email out to CZ if they might have heard of it and might have a solution. If I can't find anything, then I might just start shooting the CZ to see if it goes away - thanks JJE (Seems were both in the Bay Area).

You might try a rubber grip sleeve. It should improve your grip of the weapon, possibly eliminating the trigger slap. It worked for me.

Yes it is a defect! Send it to me before you hurt your finger trying to shoot it.

After one weekend I should have it fixed but it might not be the gun you really wanted anyways....... So just send the box and other items included as well so it is complete to add to my collection of growing CZ's.

(or make a 90 min trip up north and we will put a few hundred rounds through it to clean it up.)

P.S. CZ40P? or CZ40B?

Adjust your grip so that you are closer to the joint of your knuckle on the trigger rather then the tip or pad of your finger. I had the same sensation with a Beretta 96 on the tip of the finger and adjusting my grip and trigger finger placement was a cure. I originally was getting quite the "sting" from the trigger on recoil.

I have trigger slap on my P01

Really kind of makes me mad. I sent an email to the smith at CZ and their only answer was about a hundred bucks plus for a trigger job. I have read great things about the trigger job from the cz smith but I shouldn't get the trigger slap at all.
I wouldn't start to change your grip to take the pad of the finger off the trigger. The pad is where the finger should be so you have a straight pull and the gun doesn't come off target.
I thought maybe it was just me being over sensitive, however I had the instructor at a recent course fire the gun and he knew it wasn't right as soon as he tried it.
I also don't think that firing the gun is going to do anything to the trigger. I have more then a thousand rounds out of mine and the slap hasn't changed a bit. The trigger is ten times smoother then out of the box but the slap is still there. Let us know what cz says about it.
The slap is so bad I’m thinking of switching to an XD (for the consistency of trigger pull too).

On my CZ 75 PO1 I noticed an "impulse" from the trigger back into my finger whenever the gun was fired during my first couple of times at the range.

I just got an SP01 and I've also noticed a slight "impulse" that leave my trigger finger a little sore after shooting a couple hundred rounds or more in one session. But it doesn't really bother me. Once I got the springs sorted out, I really like the SP01. Very little recoil and scary accurate for a service grade handgun.

If it is a 40P

CZ has a sharp curved trigger that they have been putting on guns recently. My 40P came with one. I changed it out for a regular 75B trigger and the sore trigger finger went away. My SP01 also came with the same infernal trigger.

Surprised to read that this many people have this problem with their CZ's. I'm again surprised that CZ hasn't found the specific fix to this issue?

I shot a friends CZ40, and handed it back to him after 3 rds. The trigger slap totally layed waste to the pad of my poor finger. The only guns i have ever fired with trigger slap were the CZ40 and a Norinco AK that i also hated.

Hmmm...my CZ40P doesn't have this "feature" (fortunately). Not sure if they would cover a trigger job under warranty...but I would try..hard.

The sore fingers went away after I broke my P-01 in. A lot of people at the CZ Forum say to dry fire it with snap-caps installed and it will smooth out the trigger. I went the fun route and put almost a thousand rounds downrange. No problems since then.

CZ 75B

My 75B has about 750-800 rounds through it, and It has never bothered me. But years of shooting glocks and 1911's have toned my trigger to adjust to most any trigger.
