CZ600 Closeouts

Not a very interesting caliber assortment there, but with it being a CZ product and on the cheap I would be tempted. .308 if I had to pick from those, but I could get being a 6.5 easily enough.

If I had the spare cash I'd give the 223 a go, been looking for a 223 bolt gun for a while. All anymore are on long actions, the ruger is probably top of my list and even that isn't my preferred gun. Howa maybe the way to go but still needs parts changed I make it a reliable rifle. To bad it wasn't such a pain making a 98 mauser in 223 or I'd build one.

There was a dealer here offering VERY cheap CZ 600's, they sold out quickly. They had everything but the 600 Trail which was the only one I wanted.
I can't understand the cut price CZ's, what's going on ?

I found a NIB .223 600 Trail in BC for a good price, I should have it by Friday all being well.

The trail is the only one I find interesting, much less so without the quick change barrels.

I would have rather them just offered the 527 with a similar chassis.

I think all the Trails have quick change barrels, they just don't want people changing them out any more. I would bet it's a cya legal thing.

They still list "quick caliber conversions" for every model but the Alpha, I think they just haven't updated their website.

Everything I'm seeing points to the feature being nixed across the line up.

The caliber conversions went bye bye some time ago. I have a CZ 600 Alpha in .308, good rifle. Light, accurate, handy, not a match rifle, but more than enough to put meat on the table if I ever get out hunting. I do agree closing out the 550 and especially the 527 line was a mistake.

" not a match rifle " .......How much more accurate can you get ffs

Well, one of the guys I shoot with is a sniper, and compared to him, those are not the best groups. :) Of course, his rifle and scope cost several thousand, while my combo is probably closer to $800+.

I have shot miniscule three shot groups, but to be realistic they don't mean much. Usually all three were shot from a warm barrel

First shot accuracy from a cold barrel is what's important, and after that consistent groups on a moving target. Swinging gongs are useful to practice on.

PS, my first shot is most often 2" or more out at 100. After that I can I can kill my paper with deadly accuracy as long as it stays perfectly still. :)

as i don,t hunt field mice any more, so my need for a sub moa rifle is way down my list. but this number #3 ruger 45-70 has all ways amazed me from the very start it shoots groups like this at 100 yards with no work done to the rifle. the load is 50 grs H-4198 and a 300 gr hornady bullet.

Apparently the barrel swaps can still be done, but they have to be done by a qualified gunsmith otherwise the guarantee will not be honored.

I'm also curious if they are throwing in the towel on the 600 or maybe just making a design revision to bring back the caliber conversion. I never heard why they stopped doing that. I have been waiting for them to make a 6mm ARC, but the new 223 precision AAC ammo from Palmetto State Armory has renewed my interest in a small 223 bolt action.

.
CZ say they are producing the 600 trail in 300 Blackout for sale in the US soon, so it does not look like it.

I also learned that the reason they only guarantee 2 moa from the trail is due to the flexible stock.... The bolt locks directly into the barrel rather than the receiver, which is great for accuracy.

Not necessarily a closeout. Big order that the purchaser couldn’t pay for or someone else liquidating stock that europtic picked up, or some sweetener from CZ to europtic for something that went otherwise wrong. Not tempted but impressed with @armoredman groups!

I thought about getting one myself. Let us know how you like it. I have ordered a lot from Eurooptic. They ship fast and shipping is reasonable. Plus, pricing is good.
I wonder what they have as a store front, think Im like 2 hours from them. Next time I do my Cabelas, sarco, dixons. Maybe I'll see if I can add eurooptics to the list.

So apparently the method for swapping the barrels was loosening three bolts on the action and slipping the old barrel out.

It sounds like that if the three screws weren't properly torqued, they could back out, letting the barrel slip and increasing headspace, which could have a nasty effect.

The solution is that they're now epoxying the barrels into the reciever.

From what I've heard. I reserve the right to be wrong. If anyone has a more concrete answer, I'm all ears.
