I purchase a CZ 75B from Gander Mountain a few months ago. The first time I fired it I noticed it was having issues with premature lockback. I could see where the part was catching on the side of the bullet and causing it to prematurely lock back the slide. (I have had to file on a slide stop one of my 1911's that was prematurely locking back. Just a little hit with the file where the copper was showing up on the slide stop and the problem was fixed.)

Anyhow, I have decided to replace the part on the CZ (I had to trim the part back much more aggressively than I had to on my 1911) and purchase a new slide stop.

From the comparison pictures of the 9mm and the 40 cal slide stops on CZ's website it appears my 40 cal had a 9mm slide stop in it.

I was wondering why someone would trade in a almost new CZ75B. They probably got frustrated and thought it was junk.

I printed a copy of the 9mm slide stop down to the exact size of my extractor. It appears to be identical. I tried to do that with the picture of the 40cal slide stop (just to make sure) but the picture is at an angle, it was not shot directly over the part. It is harder to make the comparison.

Has anyone seen both the 9mm and 40cal slide stops side by side? Are there any differences other than the part that catches on the magazine being a little longer on the 9mm part?

I have heard of a few 40 cal 75B's getting out the door with the wrong slide stop installed. Of course they experienced premature slide lockback when the 40 cal rounds caught on the side of the slide stop.

A new 40 cal slide stop is $35.00 plus shipping over at CZ (internet store). After I modified (ground down) the 9mm slide stop it works fine. I think I will just live with it and not worry about purchasing a new one.

I have a 75B in 9mm and also in .40. I can swap the uppers and they both will work right but only if I use the .40 slide stop in the 9mm frame with the .40 upper. The .40 stops are thinner on how far they project into the frame.

CZ75 slide stop

Greetings everybody, I've just aquired a really nice Tanfoglio TZ75 9mm in need of a slide stop. Any readers out there have suggestions or experience with having to replace one. I've tried e-parts and a few others. I've also learned CZ75s,Armalite AR24s and others will fit. Any help with where I can get one will be appreciated. Thanks Gene

Gene, did you try EAA. They import the Witness made by Tanfoglio. It might be the same part.

I have a CZ75B in .40 cal, that uses then .40 cal slide stop, and a Kadet kit that uses the 9mm slide stop. If I use the Kadet kit with the .40 cal slide stop, the gun doesn't stay open after the last .22 is shot. I don't have any problem with either of them, and both of them fit without any problems.
