Based on the stats in the video, their percentage of citizens with concealed-carry permits is about the same as the U.S.

Interesting how freedom sounds the same even halfway around the world. And that it fights the same battles.

What makes me angry is that they make these gun restrictions in the name of anti-terrorism, but terrorists always use illegal guns and generally don't care about laws, not a single law will affect them or could have avoided the latest terrorist attacks in Europe (Charlie Hebdo, Bataclan, Berlin, Nice, Brussels/Paris airports...). They will always have guns. This just proves the EU is only about disarming the population to control them better and make them more dependent on police and government.

That's a powerful video, and it's message is well crafted, and in four languages (no simple task, that, either)

Only thing I do not agree with is the need or efficacy of a 'central weapon registration system'--which may well work for a place the size and homogeneity of Czech Republik, but would be less well suited for the diverse and vast United States (after all, we have entire States which feel the Czechs are far too lenient).

Why is it that no matter where it happens; those who wish to disarm people are always surrounded and protected by lots of guns?

It only works because we were essentially disarmed prior to 1990. The register can be effective when it is built from the ground up as the gun ownership numbers rise. If it was introduced now in 2017 (moreover with the EU Gun Ban leaning over our backs), the registration would be a failure.

Because THEIR lives are more important than OUR lives, of course. They believe they were born to rule, and we were born to serve them.

I am glad you shared that. I have re-shared it.
Also, it makes me like my CZ firearms even more. :)

To be perfectly clear, I meant no slight on your, very much working, system. Only that could face resistance , and on some legitimate (within context) grounds.
I applaud the Czech efforts to retain their unique national identity in the face of the great bland Belgian mayonnaise meant to blanket all of Europe in blandness and docility.

And, suddenly, I have a hankering for pierogi and pivo :)

Visiting Praha I came back with one impression of the Czechs, They do not like to be told what to do.

That had happened to them for a very long time, back in the day of the cold war, the Czechs always did things a tad different from the soviets....They are a unique and special people....people of every country are unique....much to the one world thinkers.

The issue is the "EU" is trying to "tell" member nations what to do....personally I think the EU is going to fall apart inside of 10 years.

I hope it doesn't come to this, but if the EU gets its way, you'll be seeing exactly why so many of us here in the US are so against any type of gun registry.
