Czech Mauser VZ-24 floorplate removal.

Hello all, I recently came into possession of a Czech VZ-24 Mauser. I am unable to remove the floor plate from the magazine. I push the button and try to move the floor plate back but to no avail.

Is this common on Mausers? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Its probably frozen with cosmoline. Remove the bottom metal and apply some heat with a hair dryer or HOT water. You might want to try a section of cleaning rod for more leverage, assuming you hadn't tried that.
