Looking to rebarrel my DR200 for some 300+ yard shooting. Looking at going with an SPR Mod 1 barrel, 1:7 stainless 18" heavy tapered profile, so I can utilize heavier bullets to help buck the wind better. Centurion arms sells these, but they seem kinda pricey, and I kinda feel like I'm paying a premium for the SPR designation.

Can anyone suggest a better alternative? Is there a barrel out there that will offer comparable performance but give me better "bang" for my buck?

Chrome-lined would be nice too just so that I don't have to worry about the barrel on long trips. And one that isn't already tapped with a gas block would be ideal. Also, don't know if it matters or not, but plan on putting either one of the new saker suppressors or maybe a surefire on it around December.

Thanks for the help!

White Oak Armory?

You'll be hard-pressed to find truly accurate match-grade barrels which are chrome-lined. It's an oxymoron.

I thought I'd read that somewhere but i wasn't sure. What kind of barrel life can I expect from a non-chrome lined barrel?

every bolt action hunting gun is non chrome lined. Non magnum un chromed barrels go for 4000-10k rounds.

I think I'm going to go with the WOA barrel. I've been reading up on it and the accuracy potential seems great. Also read that when these barrels are "shot out" they still do about 1.25 MOA, which is about what the current barrel does now anyway.

Daewoo Rifle Parts has spare NIB Daewoo K-2 barrels (1in12" and 1in7").

They're sold out of the 1:7 barrels. Which is too bad, because I have an early Daewoo K-2 with the 1:12 barrel and I would like to shoot 162 gr. (M855) ammo.
