4 years ago I made a 90 degree selector for my daewoo dr. The factory 180 degree one was the only complaint I had about this fine rifle. well, the thumbhole too but that was an easy fix. Would a U.S. made 90 degree selector be worth trying to manufacture? anyone interested?

Whew, that would be tough as there just aren't that many Daewoo owners out there. I almost bought one years ago (11) but passed in favor of an FAL. I would say there would be interest, but not a huge amount.

In any case, good luck on the research!

I would love to have a 90 deg selector for my K2, but I have to agree with Ash. This will be a labor of love for you - you're not going to make a killing on this item.

The selector is my major problem with the rifle.

Are you talking about the Star Wars looking thumbhole stock? Man I dropped that thing like a hot potato.

The relatively thin 20" barrel is balanced okay by the ACE collapsible stock.

Suggestion: call CNCWarrior and ask them if they'd be willing to take it on. They make Daewoo parts.

But, hey, if you're going to make it yourself post or PM me.

IMHO Daewoo is greatly underrated. Have a friend with a .223 that shoots very well. I personally have a DH40 in .40S&W that is one of the most reliable (sans accuracy) handguns I own. They're very inexpensive but, to my personal experience anyway, are good values for the $.

I've got a K1A1(is that right?) Anyway Stoeger imported it as the MAX I carbine. I think it's what the Koreans called a K1A1 or something like that.

Daewoo's were popular until they got banned from importation. I knew of several fellows owned rifles, although I'm the only person I know thats got a carbine.

Don't know if an improved safty would sell well enough to be financially viable or not?

Myself, I'm used to the safty, don't bother me a bit.

I believe someone has already announced a 90 degree selector for the Daewoo.

I think it was CNCwarrior, but I'm not sure. I'll have to hunt around and see if I can find the info.

Good idea, but if someone has already beat you to market it's going to be hard to compete in that small niche.

The Daewoo rifles are wonderful...

I fully agree. I bought the K2 folding stock model many years ago for a mere $369. Recently I was told by a dealer that it is worth $1000 to $1500 today, but I have no intention to sell it. It is my favorite assault rife of the three I own - an AR-15, Maadi AK 47, and the Daewoo.
