Daisy Avanti 499b- who else loves this gun?

Anyone else here have one? I've had one for several years and it's probably my favorite gun to shoot. 5 to 6 meter shooting lane is possible in the house, quiet, very accurate and best of all- super cheap to feed. The premium avanti bb's are $7 or so for 1050.

I loved it so much I ended up with two more over the years

Had mine for years.
Got mine way before they were Avantis. JUst called the 499B
It'll outgroup several rifles I own @ 10m!
Gotta use the "Specisl" BB;s though and NEVER shoot any of the regular type BB's through it though. Hey BB's don;t cost anything even todaay!
I hqve even considered putting a good scope on it to see what it could do?
Yea there's many of us with them, admit it or not.

I have its predecessor, the Model 99 Champion. It was my 8th birthday gift in 1976. It's still in great shape.

Hope it's ok to post this here, but there's a powerpoint manual for the 499 that does a great job showing you step by step of how to work on them and what tools are needed.

I've had one for maybe 10 years now. A fine way to spend a snow bound day. I love hearing the bb roll down the barrel and then the "thip" when it caught by the magnet.

Loosenock- I have one that takes about 2 seconds for the bb to connect with the magnet. One of the others- takes nearly 5 seconds for it to connect. My guess is one barrel is tighter than the other. Not that I can tell the difference when I'm shooting as my skills aren't much to write home about.
