Here's something different. Couple years ago I got this Dan Wesson .44Mag, then accumulated 4", 6", 8" and 10" barrels. Extremely accurate except that it always threw one shot away from the rest. That one chamber was always sticky on extraction. On our last "bovine bash", I sent it home with Jack Huntington. He found that one chamber had a defect in it but he could save the cylinder by rechambering it to .45Colt. Well, .45 Dan Wessons are not exactly growing on trees. So the idea was born to source another .44Mag cylinder and make a .45 barrel to result in a .44Mag/.45Colt switch-cylinder gun. It just now came home. For the record, this is the only gun I'll use rubber grips on, because the shape is more comfortable than the factory wood grips.

I was originally going to take another water buffalo with it using the Lehigh 265gr copper WFN but since I didn't feel like I could fully trust it and reloads would be hampered, I used the Federal Fusion 240gr to take a blackbuck and a Corsican/mouflon mix.

Back in the day, I used a DW 744 for handgun silhouette. After I stopped, it sat in the safe. I got the idea to get a light 6" barrel to replace the 8" heavy. It didn't shoot well with the 6", but by that time I had a set of pin gages. Throats were tight and uneven. I got a reamer from Brownell's. Now it is the most accurate. 44 I have.
