I intend to buy a revolver. I’ve pretty much decided on a DW .445 because it’s said to be accurate and it’s strongly built and one can feed it .44 magnum.

I’m wondering how much trouble I’ll have obtaining .445 ammo, though.

Would anyone like to pontificate? I’m all ears.

Buffalo Bore is supposed to have some factory ammo coming out for the 445. Reloading is the easiest way to go. I would love a DW 445. Too bad CZ stopped making them.

According to the CZ website, the only dan wesson guns available are 1911s (Like we didn't have enough people making them!), but hopefully they will bring back the revolvers.

So let me get this straight.

CZ, a foreign company (Czech, isn't it?), has bought DW only to halt the production of it's guns.

They still make 1911s.... That's from Colt. So they bought DW and thereby acquired the DW license to produce 1911s... and that was all they wanted from DW, that license?

Czechs dissolved an American company in order to obtain rights to the 1911 design?

And this means I can't have a .445? I am not pleased.

Oh. Well, great.

Could you point me in the right direction to find one?

I'm thinking maybe a gun show? Never been to one, but I'd like to go.

Or is there another source you would recommend?

You can also visit the Dan Wesson Forum for more info on the SuperMag. I actually have a couple NIB so I might be willing to part with one but the last one I sold for $1400 so that might be more than you want to spend.

In my area SuperMags are rare. I go to at least 6 or 8 shows a year and have never found one. As Hemiram said GunBroker, AucitonArms or GunsAmerica are you're best places to start out looking.

Good Luck, Jody
