Dan Wesson Revos ever coming back?

I would look for a used one, if they do come back, they will be insanely expensive.

I have two 15-2's and early 44, all of them together cost much less than a single 445 went for when they were selling new ones.

They'll come back someday, I'd bet.

One of these days, everyone who wants a 1911 will already have ten.:)

You can pick up old ones for less than Pythons, though, which (sort of) seems like a good deal.

Probably not.

At least not for a long, long time.

All the production equipment for revolvers has been taken out & sold. Almost all the revolver production people are gone.

Keith Lawton, Production Manager for DW is the only one doing revolver repairs currently. He told me at the NRA show last year there was no plans in the future to produce revolvers.
New revolvers would require hiring new personnel, and a new production line. While Keith would like to see revolver production resume, The new ownership of CZ-USA currently has no interest in that because of the low sales volume. I asked Keith about the prospect of subcontracting revolver production out to another company, (VERY common in the gun industy- a little secret they don't want you to know). He commented that the subject had been discussed, and there was no interest from CZ-USA.

I would guess it would take a change in ownership, or a substantial order from a major distributor, such as Lew Horton, to get the Dan Wesson back in production.

Dan Wesson does still sell barrel assemblies and they are new production, not old stock. I think the folks at DW would like to return to the revolver, but the CZ-USA management is against it. Right now the 1911 series, especially the Bobtail is a good cash cow. And they are an excellent bargin.

I agree with El Hombre, CZ would have to see a substantial market before going into revolver production. I don't see that in today's economy.
The price on the older ones is going up every day. Used pistol paks are bringing 1k on gunbroker when you see them, really nice ones are more like 1.5k. I'm glad I got mine when they had little value in the used revolver market.

Unfortunately I would have to agree with the other guys its not likely to see a new one anytime soon. I have heard rumors of DW starting a custom shop and that revolvers may be offered that way. But last time I spoke with Keith at DW this hasn't happen yet.

Again the used market would be you best option right now.
