Dang it! My wife stole one of my guns today!

I consider myself lucky, much more than those who have to live with anti-gun shrews

My first post was obviously in fun, but this post is all about agreeing with the above statement. I can say a lot of bad things about my ex-wife, but she liked to fish, loved watching football and never gave me one word of crap about my guns. Nor, thankfully, did she try to take them in the divorce. I would love to meet a girl as into guns as I am, but even that is secondary to her just being accepting of that part of me. If she isn't into guns, I don't care how pretty, rich, nymphonic (I just made that up, and it's an awesome word), or nice she is: No guns, no relationship.

When I was between wives, I took two girlfriends shooting, and both enjoyed it.

My wife also likes to go shooting with me. In her case, I don't think it's the fun aspect so much as she just wants to be prepared.

Numerous outtings with my P85 Mk.2 convinced my girlfriend to opt for a 9mm of her own. She got a Taurus 24/7 Pro stainless in 9mm and is quite happy.

This will probably repeat its self when I let her try my KP345.

Sharing is the best part of marriage. Glad she decided to share your stuff with herself. :p

I wish my wife of 24 yrs would at least go shooting with me once but she refuses. Oh well after all this time I don't see much hope in changing her mind. At least she doesn't hinder my enjoyment of shooting and guns so I don't have anything to complain about in that regards. I just worry about what happens if I am not there to protect her and she has not the first idea of how to use a gun for self defense.

Early in our marriage my wife would go out shooting with me all the time. She eventually ended up with her own Colt 1911, got to be pretty good with it.

When we ended up at our present location 24 years ago, she realized this was a pretty low crime area (that took away some of her motivation to maintain shooting skills) and the gun club was not very welcoming to women. Along with that our kids came along and she lost interest in shooting.

Our two sons are now teens, are very active in shooting and she has started going to the range with us (the gun club is better at making women feel welcome though we still have room for improvement). A little over a year ago I saw a used Taurus snub nosed revolver in .45 Colt (one of my favorite calibers), bought it, and the first time she tried it, she declared that it was her gun. Then she confiscated our Glock 17. I bought her a Glock 26 as an anniversary present last year. Now she has her own gun safe on her side of the bed where her pistols reside.

Over the past year my sons and I have been building some AR-15s and now my wife has declared that she wants her own AR-15 and she wants tan furniture on it with a laser sight. I bought a Bushmaster lower receiver that will become her AR-15.

The gun collection in our house is as much hers as mine anyway (our sons have difficulty grasping that concept) and I am happy to have her back to shooting. She can "confiscate" any gun in our safe if she wants (well, maybe not my Glock 21 or my Armalite AR-10, but she can still shoot them any time she wants) :D.

That's fantastic. My wife made me take her to a gun show (before I became a dealer) so she could pick out her own gun. We came home with a very good looking buckmark. My wife' sother favorite gun is my Sig X-5. The girl's got taste.
