I ordered the Surefire weaponlight (636FA) for my Winchester 1300 Defender two weeks ago from One Stop Knife Shop because they had the "killerest" deal: $189 plus shipping, no tax. Today I got an e-mail saying

**THIS ORDER HAS BEEN CANCELLED**
You will not be charged. We no longer have your weapon light and are no
longer carrying surefire.

:fire:

There's a notice on their site about the Surefire "ultimatum," but I was hoping they still had some inventory. (It was sure nice of them to send me a catalog, though. )

So...who's cheapest now?

Average Guy, if your not in too much of a hurry Wildalaska should be starting a Surefire Weaponlights group buy next week (or something like that). And what he charges runs about %30 under MSRP (not exaggerating). I would definatly wait for that deal considering how expensive Surefires are %30 amounts to quite a bit.

Thanks for advice. The problem, as I see it, is this:

SureFire LLC has unilaterally decided that, effective July 1, 2004, it will sell products only to those dealers that in the sole and independent opinion of SureFire, meet the following criteria:

Dealers that Sell SureFire products at prices no lower than SureFire's manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) as stated in SureFire's price list published from time to time.

Dealers that advertise SureFire products at prices no lower than SureFire's manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP). [snip]

So if I read this correctly, it means that everyone will have to sell at the same price--that is, MSRP. So much for free-market competition.

Y'know, the Surefire "Institute" is just a couple miles from here (I used to work across the street). Maybe I could go have a little talk with them... :D

Good luck! If your "world class customer service" experience with them is the same as mine was, you'll be doing this :fire: again. They made it quite obvious they didn't care if they sold anything, full price direct from them or not (I tried!) They did say I should try one of their dealers, but when I had problems with the dealers or the products, they told me go take it up with the dealer. Who of course told me to take it up with Surefire, which was the reason I had called them to begin with, and had gotten to the point where I would have paid full price direct just to get someone to sell me some lights...

I'm not sure why they care what their dealers are doing (besides charging less than them) because if you have a problem with one, it's like they never heard of em. Actually, one person there did try to help me once, but that was only because she just happened to answer the phone and didn't know better. When the real rep got back to me, she let me know that that was a mistake...

I don't know if Strategos/Night Ops has any weapon light plans, but I wouldn't mind seeing some competition.
