It gets great reviews, has pretty much any feature you would want, and has a midlength gas system which, for a 16" barrel AR, most are coming to prefer over the M4/carbine length system. And it's fairly reasonably priced if you get it from Bud's Gun Ship for $1150 or so. It would be a fairly high-end entry into the AR world but it's unlikely you would ever feel the need to upgrade any significant component of it.
Depending what you want, there are significantly less expensive rifles to consider. But if you really want the hammer-forged barrel and the free-float quadrail, the M4v3 is possibly the best buy right now.
