Sad. I wouldn't doubt that it was the foreign taxi driver who could barely speak English and should have been questioned, not a middle aged Italian gun company owner. This is what happens when we let people, such as this cab driver, in our country who do not share American values.

I hope the gun company owner sues the crap out of that cab company for pulling this on him.

Have we really scared ourselves into a corner so much that we are questioning people for terrorism based on a cab drivers irrational fears?? ......

goodness, remind me to tip well next time i take a cab...I don't want the FBI kicking down my doors in the middle of the night.

More importantly, are people now assuming anyone with a gun is now a terrorist?....

And then actual "terrorists"/scouts actively probe/test our "checkpoints" daily .. just a few days ago a non-Italian tried to fly with a pressure type thing. It goes on and on.

With the Colorado recall of politicians, several firearm related companies moving out, boycott by hunters and now this incident. This only furthers the impression that Colorado is hostile to firearms, firearms owners and firearms related companies and in the end; all this will hurt the economy of Colorado. Not to mention a possible lawsuit over this incident.

"Perazzi’s U.S. attorney told FOX31 Denver that her client was scared during the incident because he’s not familiar with U.S. gun laws and thought he’d done something wrong. She said legal action is a possibility in the future. "

I know somebody who owns several Perazzi shotguns in the $20,000 range.
There are other shotguns such as those made by Holland & Holland, and Purdy that can top $100,000.

And there are people who call the black rifle crowd crazy. Go figure.

LOL, you owe me a new keyboard :)

Yup, too many crazy people out there, so ban guns, legalize dope.

I'm betting this doesn't end well.

Inciting mass hysteria and grave emotional distress in a foreign cab driver, which may take years of counseling, drugs, and molly-coddling for the driver to fully regain his faculties to become fit for work again.

Oh, I don't know about the gun owner. Suspected terrorist? I suppose that all one has to do is call the police and report suspicious accents, luggage, or any other out of the ordinary totes?

Please explain your statement that seems to scream "wealth envy" about folks who buy some of the best made firearms there are

This has nothing to do with guns directly... this is an idiot cab driver trying to get a medal from the City of Denver for "reporting suspicious activity"... some "foreigner" taking 7 shotguns to the Denver Merchandise Mart... the same location where the Tanner Gun Show has been held every month since 1964... oooh VERY suspicious

    OK... this could be interesting...

    OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
    by Perazzi SPA

With regard to reports in the American press, in relation to an alleged arrest for "terrorism" by Daniele Perazzi (founder of Perazzi Armi SpA), we point out that the news is completely devoid of any foundation.
Daniele Perazzi is however, unfortunately, failed to live for about a year.
Even his son, Mauro, was last Saturday in the USA.
As reported in the press is absolutely false.
The company Perazzi, however, contrary to what is written, is familiar with the American legislation on weapons because of his extensive and well-known activities of marketing its products in the USA.
Since it is difficult to think of simple error, it is believed that someone who has interests contrary to those of the Perazzi SpA, may have spread false and misleading information purposes only defamatory.
The company has already instructed his lawyers to take the most appropriate actions, civil and criminal, in order to protect the brand represented and its activity, carried on the American market.

This is strange... is this a hoax or what?

UPDATE: While gathering statements for this story, there was confusion on whether or not the officers taking Perazzi and his guns into custody were with the Adams County Sheriff's Department or from the Denver Police Department. Steve Schreiner just called to say he spoke with Joe Leiper, a gun show official, who told him that the Adams County deputies were in his office at the time of the incident and knew nothing about it, meaning if this bears out, it was Denver PD -- whether this could also result in jurisdictional issues is not known at this time.

I've been wondering about this story since it broke. Mr. P died last November.

Aren't reporters allowed to use Google at work? Maybe they didn't pay their internet bill.

Feb 18, 2013 – Daniele Perazzi passed away at the top of his game. Only months before his death on November 7, 2012, his eponymous shotgun company ..."

    No wealth envy here.
More power to those that can afford them.

I just find it comical that some people purchase $20,000 shotguns but when you tell them that a JP Rifles LRP-07 AR with good optics goes for over $6,000 they look at you like you fell off the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down.

My guess is that they justify the value of their purchase due to the painstaking labour put into the manufacturing of their shotguns.
On the other hand they must figure that an AR is made up of only a few pounds of aluminum and some steel that a CNC machine can spit out in a few minutes.
