Hello Gun People,

First post here at THR. Belong to a few other firearm forums as well and have been shooting for 25 years, reloading only for 1 year.

I have a endless supply of the Winchester platinum tip 400 grain hollow point bullets, .50ae brass and H110. I did have a S&W .500mag for a few years but revolvers are just not my thing so I sold that and a few 686s in .357mag last summer. I never reloaded for the .500mag but originally bought up tons of 400 grain in anticipation of reloading for it.

I collect and shoot Desert Eagle Mark XIXs in .50AE. Have more than a few. I do know for a fact that some DE .50 shooters use the 400 grain Winchester with great success but the gunshop owner I got this info from has failed to get me any load data from the shooters that frequent his store.

My question is does anyone here shoot and reload for the DE in .50AE in heavier grains and if so do you have any load data or advice to find or produce load data? All the main manuals only go up to 325 grain and the actual desert eagle forum is close to useless for load data.

Just threw up a pic of the bullet and length for detail. Actual correct reading is 0.901 not .902.

I load for mine. I was always under the impression that 350gr was the max. Biggest I load for is 335gr rainiers. Never heard of 400's being shot thru a DE(which doesn't mean they can't I just never heard of it)

And welcome to THR
