I’m going to start making use of the old .50AE brass I have collecting dust. When I bought the Desert Eagle I also bought the reloading die for .50AE but have never used it. Now that I’m going to start I see that it takes about 31g of powder but my Lee Auto-Disk only goes to about 25. Can I use the Lee powder measure for larger loads?

Do you have a double disc kit for the auto disk? Depending on powder it should get up into the 40’s range with ball or stick powders. Double discs are a bit leaky with fine ball powders though.

Yes, double is kit is the answer if you want to use the disk measure.
Otherwise (if they are available) a Lee Autodrum can drop charges that large and are not to much money.

(I have 2 Lee disks-one plain and one Pro, the Autodrum, and a LNL measure)
I still use the disk measure if there is a disk that throws the charge I want.)

You didn't mention what powder (do you know it's VMD?)

Here is the Lee chart for stacking disks with the double disk kit

Note top disk is the same size or smaller than the bottom disk.

VMD for H110/W296 is about .065, 4227 is about .076, AA1680 about .065
So say for 31gr of H110 you would need about 2.03 (caculated guess, varies with actual powder VMD)so a combo say between 1.97 and 2.08 should get you there.

I’m using the H110 so that’s excellent info. I have the kit ordered (from freakin Amazon because everyone else has it back ordered) and it should be here by Wednesday. Which is fine since I have so many other rounds to load, LOL! Thanks for the table.
