My daughter toppled 3 muley does on consecutive years. But this is her first buck. Easily the largest forked horn buck I've ever seen - anywhere. The Wildlife Biologist told us the buck was 9 years old!

This buck was taken on public land in Black Hills Nat'l Forest. A single 150 grain Winchester SilverTip 30-30 bullet was all it took to topple this large animal. Weight estimated at close to 300 lbs. Distance was about 125 yards; bullet struck the chest from broadside and exited into the snowy forest. Her carbine is Winchester 94 Legacy with angle-eject feature. Scope is Simmons 2X-7X Pro Hunter in Millet two piece sculpted mounts. This carbine shoots into a 4 inch circle at 150 yards when she does her part.

Now she wants to go for elk in Wyoming with me next season! We'll see if she can borrow a 300 Savage rifle from an elderly friend in Sundance.

Congratulations!
Tell her I'm jealous.
But you really need a better pic. Hard to see that smile from so far away. LOL

but I thought that the .30-30 was antique, obsolete, and wasn't enough gun for an animal that big, and was almost useless at ranges greater than 50 yards?

huh. I might have get one of those. :)

It took only a minute in a program called Adobe Photoshop. While the program itself is I believe $400 you can download a free 30 day trial many places on the internet. No credit cards, names etc. !00% truely a free and legal trial. Once you get the program going, open the picture and adjust the settings. May sound a little complicated, but truth be told it is much easier than scanning the picture in! Its an amazing program with countless benefits

take this youtube video for example. A little more indepth than the beginner or what I did but a neat watch

This page shows one of the things I did. Again, very basic

I'm not sure of your pc knowledge but if you have any more questions or feel intimidated and want me to do other pictures just shoot me a PM
