Dave, not wanting to HiJack the press check thread could you give the width and depth of the notch you cut in the barrel hood?

I have never measured it and can only give you a rough idea. I would guess about 1/16th wide and 1/8th deep in the center of the hood as the barrel rides in the slide. I use a Dremel heavy duty cutting wheel without the extenstion on it. (Flex Shaft) I get some support from the vice as I hold it and just cut it on the mark I make with a blue pen. There is no pressure on the hood at this point as below it is nothing but air. all you can see is a tiny part of a case rim but it's very easy to check if you are in a lighted room. I never make a practice of checking chambers in the dark, but I have a modified 38 Super Star that has a chamber check that you can feel.
