I had a discussion at work with a guy last night who is self-described as a hippie/hillbilly. He has about 300 acres of land and invited me out to shoot. Anyway, he voted for Obama, and truly believes that the gubmint will never take away our guns. He says his are all private party bought, etc., etc. So he has the "I've got mine" philosophy. The cool thing is that after just five minutes of my soapbox rant, he saw the light and said he was joining the NRA.

Anyway, conversions are not always for anti-2As, we've got to reach some of our own as well.

I ran into some elitist attitudes which I'm sure are still around. I called
them the "over/under" or "Weatherby-only" types because they often owned
such expensive weapons and then be-littled those of us poor rednecks who
liked "cheap stuff" like SKSs, mini14s, etc. They always ended their rant with
"...and who needs one of those things anyway."

Funny...ironic...who "needs" a $10K shotgun for breaking little clay pigeons?
Who needs a rifle with a fancy woodstock and engraved receiver/floorplate?
Who needs a centerfire rifle caliber that can go thru kevlar?

I'm sure you see where I'm going with this.

Gun-owners don't need to self-decimate as a group before the anti's have
showed up for the political fight!
