FALLS, Pa. - A group of five men entered a gun shop last week and stole three handguns while the store clerk was selling boxes of ammunition to two of the robbers, police said.

The men entered Mike's Gun Shop on the 8000 block of Mill Creek Road around 1:40 p.m. Thursday, Falls Public Safety Director Neil Harkins said. Two of the robbers distracted the employee while the others stole two 9mm handguns and a .40-caliber handgun, it was reported.

The worker had no idea that the men had stolen anything until they had already left, police said. A witness reported seeing the men leave the area in a yellow Honda car with N.J. license plates.

Guess those harsh PRNJ gun laws are having an effect already! :banghead:

Wouldn't that be more a case of shop lifting instead of robbery?
Heck the gun shop I bought my first gun from "Not actually as I bought it out of state and the chain (Sheels) was also in MN so they transfered it there in a taxi"
Anyway they left MY Paid in FULL gun on open counter in sporting goods next to fishing supplies. As I couldn't find clerk I walked out and put it into my car. Waited 10min.
Went back in and had clerk paged. Guess what? He couldn't find my gun. I found out they had lost 3 guns in less then a month and they REFUSED to take simple steps.
I offered to assist and was clearly told (No Thanks) we do not want to offend any possible coustomers. I now know why it was so much cheaper to buy same gun in ND (Fargo) then in MN Moorhead.

That would be a shoplifting, unless PA has its laws written very differently than Ohio's.

Son of a.......I used to live on that same street! Passed by the place a few times, never did go inside........of course, with the additional laws being proposed, I'm sure this will become more and more common...

i wonder if the clerk asked for id to insure the ammo was going to legal and of age buyers?
better yet, i wonder if the theives were smart enough to buy 9 and 40 ammo?

Don't worry, the bad guys will get caught when they submit their firearm transfer of ownership forms to their local police department...They may even flag down a trooper on the way to the police station just to speed the paper work up! This is, of course, the benefit of gun registration! It should work...really, it should...

Damn....I only live several miles from Falls, and this is the first i've heard of it. I know one of my favorite guns shops here in Wilkes-Barre was held up several years ago. A couple of homeboys (they were from NY or Phila) walked into the shop, stuck a gun in the co-owners (brothers) faces and took several handguns. I do seem to remember something about one or two of the individuals getting caught later on

Per se robbery is a theft accomplished through use of force or fear. No force or fear here. Statutory Burglary (entry onto premises with intent to commit a felony, in this case, the underlying felony is grand theft).
