I just saw a spot on fox showing all the hoops you have to jump though to get a hangun in DC. One was to take your new gun to police headquarters to have them test fire it. what is that about ? do they take samples of cases and or fired rounds for future testing ?

What it's all about is the DC pols having their little hissy fit that Heller struck down their gun ban so they are making you jump thru so many hoops to be able to actually own a handgun that they hope you will just give up. :cuss:

Exactly, it's what states like NJ, NY, CA, MA, etc. do, taken to the next level. They make it so hard to get a gun that you just give up. It costs overs $800 in various fees in DC. I mean, they want you to have a gun of course, they just have to check a few things to keep the children safe! Sigh.

I saw the same report tonight. What a farce! More and more government intervention, they can't even accept a SCOTUS decision! You also had to go out of DC, from what I saw, into Va to get your hand gun. I can only imagine the regulations placed on any dealers wanting to open up in the city.

Yeah, not sure if they showed it in the report but there is only 1 person in all of DC with an FFL. He does not not run a shop, he just does transfers (for like $150 or something crazy like that)

Last Fall I registered a Sig 229 in DC. They do make it onerous and there is only one FFL. It takes at least three trips to the MPD to accomplish the registration. The FFL fee was $125 and the city fee was $45, IIRC. Believe it or not, one additional problem is the shortage of parking for civilians near MPD headquarters. One can easily waste an hour looking for a place to park.

This Spring I moved across the river to Virginia and have not looked back.

DC has too long allowed the government to walk on the citizens. As a result, they have created one of the safest areas in the entire US for criminals to operate.

There is a solution.

Get the word out, go door to door, and unelect these *******s and put some people that honor the constitution in their positions. Then, change the laws and give the victims thier teeth back.
