I got a pair of Wilson Combat QD swivels for the 'ol DD m4 v5, they fit fine in the rear QD mount, but they just yank right out on the side rail mounts? Now first off, this confuses me, since I would expect them all to be of an identical standard (especially from Daniel Defense) I don't understand why they fit in one place and not another?

So the shorter version of my actual question. What are you using on your DD m4 v5 side rail for a QD swivel that fits and is reliable? I'd like to avoid throwing any more money away. Looking for the midrange price point, not china cheap, but don't need the cadillac of swivels either...

Thanks for any tips fellas!

I honestly don't know the brands of swivels I have. Gun shows, came with stuff, etc BUT they all fit the rear most holes on both sides of my DD rail (I have a DD M4V3) . Something doesn't sound right. Have you measured the ID of the hole in your rail? Does the swivel insert and snap fully in?

With some closer inspection, they're quite different mounts. The rear mount has a much more pronounced ridge to catch the swivel that goes around the entire circumference of the hole. Where as the rail mounts just have 4 rounded concave little notches which also have just a hair bit more distance from the top to the notches. Looking at it closely I'm not sure how any QD swivel could stay in the rail mounts effectively especially if you actually had to put a little stress on it? I'm thinking its time to write DD directly and inquire. :/

Just an update on this, contacted D.D. and they sent me a label saying to send in the WHOLE upper so they could see the problem, which I did and the received today. I included Q.D. swivel for them to test themselves, we'll see what comes of it hopefully before next week.
