I've been wanting another full sized 40SW, but this price is almost too good to pass up. I may just jump on it. Thanks for the tip, Mystery123.

My 9mm version came with sleeves so you could flush fit 17 round mags, making the only difference from the full size version .25" of barrel. I assume the 40 has sleeves for full size mags too. To me the full size 2.0 is a waste. Get the Compact and you can go smaller or larger with the grip, or go to the 5" barrel version to get a meaningfully longer barrel/sight radius.

I bought one back around New Years. I am happy with it but I like everything about .40 except the fact it is more expensive than 9mm. What did tick me off was I had been watching these for a while & never seen prices come below around $350. I saw a deal before I bought mine for $320. When I decided to buy (I was waiting to make sure we had everyone's Christmas took care of) that deal was gone. So after searching around a bit I ordered on for $340 shipped (plus $10 charge for using a credit card). Two days later an E-mail popped up in my inbox that had them for $299.99. It seems like the day after I order something prices magically fall. I like the pistol though.

Didn't know about the sleeves. The seller description doesn't mention those, unless I missed it. ;)

Thanks for the heads-up! I do have a 9mm 2.0 compact, but I have tons of respect for the .40S&W cartridge and I've recently stocked up on fairly cheap RA40T that was dumped by some (Ohio?) LEO department after switching to 9mm.
The price is appealing and I already know the M&P 2.0 is excellent, so... I may have a 2nd M&P 2.0 soon.

Wow. That's a deal. I have the FS 5" FDE and it is such a joy to shoot. The 30 different grip size thing is great. However, I'm a manual safety partisan, so have to pass.

I got a 9mm compact 4" from grabagun for $369, so that's a pretty good deal even though in .40. Wouldn't be a bad idea to get one and then a conversion kit for 9mm.

I've got some .40 laying around with nothing to shoot it in myself.

My thoughts exactly.

I'd get it if it were 9mm.
I’m with you

Or get all of them. Nothing like having a family of M&Ps if you can afford it!

Right now the 4" is my next M&P. I have a 5" and love it.

Yes, saw that.
I don't want one without manual safety to start with no matter what other suggest.
If I'm not comfortable, I'm not. :)
S&W will send the safety delete kit to customers for free so I wonder if they will send the manual safety for free as well. By all accounts it’s a 5 minute job to install/uninstall so it may be worth looking in to if that’s the only thing stopping you from buying this gun. Worse case senario S&W charges you a few bucks for a safety.

Hmm...
I haven't thought 40 caliber as first gun.
I heard it has more recoil.
Also practice ammo is pricier.

Those are full size models so no ccw but an option for hd.
Let's see.

I know safety can be removed but I don't know if it's possible to add one as there's no hole on the frame for safety on non safety models.
It's only around $60 difference, not a big deal.

I shop both G20s and G29 with ball ammo pretty much loaded to .40S&W levels and can tell you the recoil isn't bad. The $299 is a great deal if you need a gun. The .40 is great because unlike with 9×19 you do not need to hoard ammo in anticipation of next customer inspired shortages. It's a big plus when you can buy ammo only when actually needed.

I believe all frames have safety notches. The ones without simply have plugs in them.

High quality holster and good gun handling eliminate need for a safety on certain guns, no worries.

They are so reasonably priced it's tempting.
