I received my C&R license yesterday and am anxious to send it off to several dealers. My question is this. Once I send it to Midway, for example, how do I get the dealer discount? Will it automatically be applied to my shopping cart when I check out? Also, how much are the discounts usually? Do they vary by what you buy or are they a flat percentage applied to the entire order?

TIA

I don't know the specifics, and I'm sure someone will be along here soon enough.

My understanding is that they apply it to your account and let you know then you should see dealer prices on the website. Since they're dealer prices I think it'd be cheaper for everything as it all would be merchandise a gun shop could/would stock.

It varies by retailer, but at Midway you will have an account that you log into, just like a regular returning customer, except that when you shop it will list both a regular price and a dealer price for each item.

Savings also vary per item. Sometimes you save $35 on a $160 item, sometimes you save $.04 on a $8 item, sometimes there is no discount.

You say you received your C&R yesterday. I was just wondering when you sent in your application. I sent mine out in March and have not yet heard anything. Wondering if that is unusual or not. Thanks.

To get set up at Midway, sign up for an account. When you send in your hard copy or faxed C&R, notify them of your current account. They will set up that account for the discounts.

Every time you go to Midway's website, you will have to sign in into your account (unless you were there previously that day and had not gone off line between visits and the cookie is still active). As noted above, after you sign in, you will see the current price, any sale price, and the dealer discount price. (If the item is not on sale that period, you will not see this price.) The current and dealer prices will be tabulated all the way to the end of the sale so that you can see how much you've saved.

I sent my application about 2 weeks ago. I was shocked at how fast I got my license back. Today I got a large package full of regulations and stuff. I received a 468 page book titled 'ATF State Laws and Published Ordinances - Firearms', another big book titled "Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide', and a bunch of smaller items.

got the packet today too, and the license yesterday.

There's a lot of reading in there. Might take some time.

So with a C&R license you get to buy stuff at DEALER cost??

Dealer costs from brownells and midway are not the same as dealer costs from the distrubtors most dealers buy from. Generally I can still beat the midway/brownells price at other places.
