Is it just me or has AMC been playing the entire Death Wish serries a lot lately?
The last 3 weekends it has been on. I saw Death Wish 1 & 2 for the first time on cable was about a year ago and I believe it was on AMC.

Haha! I didnt know about that but it doesnt surprise me. im guessing that programming execs were sitting around thinking, "In todays political and global climate, where Americans are having jobs, money, and possibly gun rights taken away..what would glue to to our channel? I know..movies like Death Wish!" It feeds into our fears and we're riveted by the lead actor who wreaks vengeance and destroys anyone foolish enough to get into the way. It makes us feel better. I'm sure some even are fondling a shotgun while watching saying to themselves, "Sumbitch better never try that with ME!"
I remember being a little boy having nightmares about Death Wish..caught a showing one time when my parents weren't around. Another movie that stuck with me was "Red Dawn". I remember being so furious those damn Commies would come into MY country. Being so young it seemed real to me and I have to say it definitely played to my feelings of patriotism and loving my country, despite all the people that are now trying to tear it down and neuter it

Yup, it has been on a lot. They have been showing a lot of repeats of the Death Wish series, the Rambo series, the Rocky series, and the Man With No Name series.

Not sure why they are, but I have enjoyed seeing Eastwood several times.

Maybe it is a sign that AMC thinks we need more hard hitting, sharp shooting, cigar chewing, vigilantes out there...
