Decision made. M1A Scout Squad. Now; Wood or Black?

A black stock gets very hot if you lay it out in the sunlight.....OUCH!!!

Wood is heavy. The Springfield walnut stocks, IMO, are too thick behind the receiver...if I had to go wood I'd choose birch.

Black fiberglass has a few advantages. Its lighter and slimmer. However, the black crinkle paint does flake off. Just gives you an excuse to get creative with some duracoat or krylon.
