Yep, it's been her call completely. Not every 586 or GP100 has exactly the same trigger. Maybe take her to a gun show, the her dry fire a bunch, and buy her the one she likes best?

Yeah, .38 S&W. A little hard to find and a bit high. Why would your Colt Police Special be costly to feed?, is one of the 38 S&W chambered ones?
I may have asked this before TarDevil(in another thread), but do you reload for 38 S&W?, it could equate in savings eventhough 38 S&W reloading supplies aren't easy to come by. I just look up some 38 S&W ammo and Remington has a box of 50 for $21, that's not too expensive for a ammo that isn't a mainstream/popular caliber.Yeah, .38 S&W. A little hard to find and a bit high.
Not yet. I retired from the business world then my wife and I started a business in our home. In four years we'll either sell or dissolve and retire for good. Hopefully the cabin boat will be finished and I can free up space for a bench.I may have asked this before TarDevil(in another thread), but do you reload for 38 S&W?, it could equate in savings eventhough 38 S&W reloading supplies aren't easy to come by. Have you considered one of Lee's hand held single stage press(about the only cal you can't reload with it is 50 BMG)?, they're the size of a shoebox and any table becomes a reloading bench. Not yet. It's as much about time as space, currently. We're WAY behind just shooting.Have you considered one of Lee's hand held single stage press(about the only cal you can't reload with it is 50 BMG)?, they're the size of a shoebox and any table becomes a reloading bench.
It would thrill me if she picked the LCR 9mm. I'm not a fan of the CA simply because I like clips for these guns. But, again, if she holds it, likes it, shoots it well it'll come home with us.Economically and fundamentally, I would have her try a 9mm lcr, CA Pitbull, Taurus 905.... I know it's not on the list, but if you dont reload......?
Her ears and your billfold would be happy.
So much easier than some of the ammo/reloading options posted.
Of course, the 586 is awesome.

And yeah, her fondness of the 586 put a smile on my face. Shooting .38 spcl isn't all that expensive.
Semi autos are off the table, per the wife!Maybe you should try a different direction. If she has long fingers, maybe she would like the feel of a Kel-Tec PMR 30.
It's lightweight, and has a bit of an oblong grip.
I'd let her try one, if it's up to her.
We've had both Smith and Ruger. Now, we have 73 clones and Ruger. Dad's 19-4 is the only Smith left. The gp and super Redhawk would be my first 2 options based on larger grip/trigger. We do have an sp101 4.2" but the grips won't likely tickle her fancy. Also maybe consider a Blackhawk unless the da is an absolute requirement, and if you get the synthetic checkered grips swap em off for full thickness plow handle. The wife and I both have longer fingers and the lipsey single7 and Blackhawk plow handle grips are nice!Semi autos are off the table, per the wife!
