I just shot the first rounds out of my Ruger New Model Blackhawk .45 convertible today. I shot the .45 ACP cylinder. I invested before even shooting it in;
1. chamber throat reaming to .4525
2. a trigger/action job by a competent professional
I am not entirely happy that Ruger does not "finish" these revolvers (i.e. chamber throats too tight almost always and a less than superior trigger). But the question can be easily resolved by your intended use.
If you wish (as I do) to have a single action revolver comfortable with higher pressure .45 Colt rounds suitable for medium game hunting or anything else you would use a "hot" .45 Colt for, it's the Ruger in a no brainer. The economy of using .45 ACP is icing on the cake.
If however you have no use for higher pressure .45 Colt and appreciate the more "finished" and asthetic qualities of the Uberti, then that's your huckleberry.
Do you want the girl to be pretty at the dance or slaughter hogs and bake biscuits?
