Hi All!
I'm new to hand-gunning and to this forum. I'm retired and have purchased a CZ PCR which hasn't arrived yet. I'm considering taking a CCW course and maybe acquiring a license. I can't imagine requiring any "quick-draw" capacity, but would like the ability to carry concealed. I've seen deep-concealment clothing on the I-net, ie., T-shirts and undergarment shoulder-holsters. They seem like the perfect option for my needs. Has anyone had experience with these types of holsters?

Welcome to the collected wisdom here.

Buy a high-riding holster. That way you can conceal any gun with a normal-length shirt or sweater. To pack away your gun in your underwear is not wise. In case you buy a pankcake style of OWB holster you can tuck it inside your waistband for deeper concealment. Tie a string through each ear of the OWB holster and tie the strings around the belt of your's to keep it from sliding deeper down your trousers. In this way I conceal my DW 4" like a charm. What a thrill. Utter destruction invisible.

I don't see the point.

A nice IWB holster makes it invisible, and easy to get to.

Those crazy shirts make it invisible, and require a dressing room to get to.

Well, my "bright idea" doesn't seem very bright to the experienced "carry" folks. In my defense, though, in all my 63 years I've never been in a scenario when a handgun would have solved a life-threatening situation. In other words, I've either successfully avoided these circumstances, or I've been extremely lucky. My rationale for the deep cover thing is that I could comfortably carry a highly concealed weapon, but have the weapon available "to bring it to hand" in a threatening situation that is obvious. For instance, while traversing a high-crime area, or while navigating a dark parking garage, after hours. I live in a secure condo, in a safe neighborhood, but I'm becoming concerned that the "desperation quotient" for marginal people is rising as the economy sours. Lethal protection may become necessary. I hope things don't get that bad. I appreciate the thoughtful input.

A lot of the gimmicky clothing is exactly that - gimmicky. Hard to use, and slow to get to. I have tried some, and I have come to the conclusion that a PCR works best in good leather. High Noon holsters makes some very nice CZ leather, and here is my current fave, and HBE COMIII IWB rig, the maker is PCRCCW here on THR.

This Bianchi M-100 works quite well, I now use it with my PCR when it rides as back up.

Hope that helps.

Those are definitely nice rigs. I keep thinking that I'd have to jump TWO pants-sizes to where an IWB, though. Is there any truth to my assumption? Thanks!

PS Plus, I usually like to wear my shirt-tails tucked in.

Well, I am like you. I'm new to all this and am expecting my CCW license in the mail anyday. I've ordered some CCW t-shirts and I'll let you know what I think of them after I've used them a few times. I work in an office that allows CCW, but I wear a suit and have to have my shirts tucked in at all times. So I'll try various things until I find something I like. If nothing else, a CCW t-shirt looks like a nice place to stash a back-up gun, but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

worked closely with i.e. got there coffee and sandwiches:D
with various sneaky beaky types and intelligence types they wore normal clothes including occasionally suits and quality holsters
think ccw shirts etc heading into mall ninja territory:D
they might work

thunder wear and the compression shorts :uhoh: you Americans have a really warped sense of humor :uhoh:

Check out the vests from one of our moderators - Bullfrog Ken!!

I have one and it is quite excellent in fit and quality. I wore it when I had to introduce folks at work and many complemented me on the nice vest. No one cottoned to the fact that it was a concealment garment.

These are more of a "niche" or "specialty" method of carry, for social situations when not even a hint of any kind of bulge or "printing" must be seen. Also, IMO the CZ PCR may be a little too large for such carries. (BTW, I have one and like it very much.:)) It is a lot easier to carry concealed if you think in terms of being unobtrusive rather than completely hidden.

Depends on how you wear your pants.
If you're the cowboy type and wear nuthuggers, well, don't know what to tell you.

I didn't have to jump any pant sizes because I wear relaxed fit jeans.

I love my PCR, and I carry it in a Comp-Tac MTAC, it's a great combination. Those CCW extra super scret squirrel clothes are cool, but the PCR is a little on the big side for them, and more importantly a little on the heavy side. 15 rounds plus an alloy framed locked-breech compact service pistol comes at a price, and weight is it.

I would say the MTAC sounds good, it is tuckable, it is highly adjustable, it is my favorite holster ever. For the P01, same holster.

I wear Wrangler carpenter jeans, good looking, relaxed fit, could hide a substantial firearm inside the legs. :) I will second the opinion of vests - I have a nice looking one clearanced from Cabelas, and it hides my work holster quite well, despite that it is an OWB non concealment model. I have carried a full sized all stell sidearm concealed with little difficulty before, it all goes to your wardrobe, and how you have to dress.

I'm five-nine and weigh all of 128 pounds. I wear 32-32 carpenter jeans (relaxed a little, and only because they don't make 31-33), and conceal a S&W 469 (think about the size of an XD-M) IWB. Just dissappears under a T-shirt. You should be alright with any IWB holster under most clothes.
