Hello all!

I've recently started a new job and wanted to get peoples opinions or experiences on trying to carry during work, when carrying would at the least be a large faux paux.

I currently carry a 5" 1911 in a CompTac C-TAC holster. I really do love the holster and feel it does an admirable job at concealing a large pistol. It's a pipe dream, however, to imagine I can successfully conceal a full-size gov't model under a tucked-in shirt. 'Tuckability' is a wonderful virtue of the C-TAC, but not around the 1911.

My only other option for carry is a Glock 33. The requirements for concealability are that it must be, as said, under a tucked shirt, and that no one can find out that I'm carrying. I will be working while standing around others, and in close proximity. The blessing is that the vast majority of the time, I'll be wearing a white jacket (which softens the requirements considerably) as would typically be worn by a pharmacist.

My question is if anyone here has successfully concealed a mini-glock, or a pistol of comparable size, along the belt under a tucked shirt? Instances where people used the specific holster in question would be particularly useful. If you used another method of concealment or another holster make, what was it?

Before suggestions are made, no other model of pistol can be substituted for the Glock, and it will not be sold or traded in. It will happen with that piece or not at all, at least for quite some time.

I carry a Steyr S40 (mini-glock size) in a CTAC and have done so with mixed results. The shirts that work best are oversize (obviously) but that can leave you looking less than crisp/professional depending on the brand/cut of shirt. Do-able? Yes. But it's not as easy in my experience as the holster manufacturers make it sound. Could have something to do with my dunlaps disease.... nah, probably not. ;)

BTW, the C clips are manditory as the stock clips tend to draw the eyes.

As an aside, loose pleated front pants worked great for my Glock 26 and DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster back in the day!

HTH,
Mike

This is a FIST deep cover clip holster. As you can see, the clip is attached to a leather extension which makes the gun ride deeper IWB. I have carried my G26 in this rig with a pair of shorts (with a belt) and a t-shirt with no problems. It makes for great concealment when you don't want to wear a lot of overwear clothing.

Looks good, but I'm not sure how wise it would be for me to have a large steel clip on my pants just in front of a glock sized bulge. I've heard good things of FIST though.

Something like a "Kramer tshirt" or a "smart carry holster" might be the ticket.

I pocket carry all the time every day,

2 guns I use are S&W 642 and Glock G-26

Holster 642 Kramer pocket
Holster G-26 Desantis nemesis.

If you have to wear a suit or dress pants: Go to your local dryclearner or tailor, and ask them to sew in an oversize pocket that will hold a G-26, its the smallest lightest and the only pocket sized glock. I dont own a suit that can take my G-26 in a pocket holster, I carry a keltec p32 if I have to wear a suit. I have found that some carpenter pants some fancy jeans ,(the gang banger kind, dont worry you will look cool) and some dockers can handle the G-26 in its holster.

The pants cant be tight, and they have to have an open 45 degree pocket, not the straight type pocket opening.

I specifically take my G-26 and holster with me to the store, carried in a Jeans pocket of course, when I buy casual/ work pants, if the pockets cant conceal the glock I dont buy the pants.
Most days I carry a 642 .38 spl +p in a pocket holster.

A pocket holster = Absolute concealment, Gun always with you, fast draw.

I have tried IWB, and a tuckable holster, and they did not work for me.

JMHO
YMMV

SP,

I would have duct-taped the gun to the skin exactly where I wanted it to be and made sure it can be consealed at all within the constraints you specify.
Then I would have tried to manufacture the contraption that would have allowed me to keep it in that position.

One can sew and mold leather or resin-laminated fabrics around the gun and the body (or plaster imprints) of them in pretty much any shape.

Check out the High Noon product line. Scroll down to "Tuckables."

I carry a Kahr PM-9 in a Hidden Ally holster, tucked in. While it wouldn't be as comfortable, I'm confident it could be done with a Glock. I'd go with the Split Decision (essentially Hidden Ally with a cant) so that the actual bulge on the waistband wasn't so big. I can't speak for any of their other products, but the workmanship and quality on the model I bought is superb. It's been six months and I haven't looked anywhere else for deep concealment methods. Good luck.
